Do these 'friends' understand why you are not in Osama's camp? I am not aware of any of our people (conservatives, Pubbies) screaming at others for not being in McCain's camp. Not saying it doesn't happen, but at least we, as adults, recognize their right to support whoever they want without screaming at them because we can't have our way.

You are controlling yourself well by just deleting it. I don't know if I would have that much control. I will say, though, that I have lightened up TREMENDOUSLY since the Sarah Barracuda announcement on Friday, because we now have a chance to win this thing, whereas before, I was very doubtful.

Bev, you and I are going to have to agree to disagree about the election. Obama is in my opinion much more able to lead the country away from the crap we're in, though it will certainly take several presidential cycles and perhaps generations, if at all.

Also, that bit about environmentalists being responsible for the price of gas - - It is the OIL companies who are responsible for the price of gas, and Mark my words - they are going to BUY the next election! The other thing responsible for the price of gas is having a war in a place where we get a lot of the gas from! this has helped restrict supply.

Drilling Alaska and California coast won't result in a drop of new gas at the pump for 10 years - and this according to the Bush administrations DOE!

Drilling where they weren't allowed to (and BTW, even McCain is against drilling in ANWAR - for now, watch him change that too) will result in oil that the oil companies can sell to Asia! What are you kidding me? You think they're going to sell it to you at a lower price?

When "they" say that it's the environmentalists fault that these areas hav3en't been drilled - you have to remember, that until just the last few months, McCain was one of them - opposing drilling in California and new drilling in Alaska.

Time to wake up - the world is running out of oil - the INCREASE in demand is exceeding the increase in supply. It's time to do something else besides drill the last remaining bit - might be nice to save some for when we really need it (and it's not now!)

This will preceed the large oil fields going dry (has has happened in Texas)

This whole business of running the government seems to be primarily aimed at enriching the oil companies and I have trouble believing that an intelligent person like you is going along with it!
