Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama said Sunday he will tap his huge political network of donors and volunteers to help U.S. victims of Hurricane Gustav after it comes inland.
"I think we can get tons of volunteers to travel down there, if it becomes necessary," Obama told reporters after attending St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Lima, Ohio.

So, it's a lose for him if the damage is insignificant.
He doesn't feel your pain, he capitalizes on it.

Will he travel down there with former DNC Chairman Dan Fowler to scoff and laugh at the victims?

Heh heh heh. You go Obama! Those “internals” have the Obama mob panicked. BTW: Anybody hear how the “Fiasco at Invesco” turned out? I can’t find anything in the news about that! Everything is about Sarah “Barracuda”. Even all the moonbat blogs. Heh heh heh.

I wouldn't speculate that he's actually
wishing misfortune upon people in order to have opportunities to draw attention to himself...would I?
I know I would conclude that he's an overzealous, shameless opportunist.
To: the invisib1e hand
He said more about getting his TWO MILLION volunteers (YAWN) to go down there and volunteer rather than sending donations...
He doesnt want water sent where they already have water...
(”You had some water yestertday? Well None for you today...”)
He also said nothing would be done by his campaign for the first 48 hours...

And he never mentioned even helping until hours after McCain said the GOP would help...

I wouldn't speculate that he's actually wishing misfortune upon people in order to have opportunities to draw attention to himself...would I?A Former head of the DNC and a Rat Rep have already done that, I don't believe for a minute he would publicly wish them harm. In private, his desire to blast the Bush Admin for political advantage made make this a valid point.

A day late and a dollar shot, McCain proposed that the RNC convention should be delayed and have a telethon in it's place to help hurricane victims...Barack has been slow on the pick up...

He said more about getting his TWO MILLION volunteers (YAWN) to go down there and volunteer rather than sending donations... Only if he can get Bono and Mick Jagger to open! Thats the only way he ever draws a crowd anyways!

Michael Moore is going down there to add to the wind. Sean Penn has volunteered himself and his dinghy.

His efforts will be weak at best. McCain/Palin 08 have the jump on Hussein Obama. The RNC Convention will make more headlines than the DNC did because they will show leadership during this unfortunate disaster.
It will show the distinct difference between one who has the leadership capabilities and one who is the most inexperienced candidate ever to run for POTUS....
