Mort Kondracke said on Fox tonight that Palin is not qualfied to be VP. He also thinks Obama is presidential material because he's been running for the job for three years.
Yep, that qualifies him all right.
So Obama’s qualified because he’s running for president for 3 years when he should been in the senate.

By Mort's reasoning, Harold Stassen or Gus Hall should have had their two terms each.

He believes that the simple act of running for POTUS for three years provides a wealth of experience. It might if one had some experience and knowledge to start with. But the gaffes and verbal blunders that the haloed one hs committed, IMO the most egregious being the claim that Kennedy’s Vienna meeting with Nikita was a success, show that he has neither the experience to lead nor the knowledge base upon which to build.
And who did that maniac want McCain to pick as VP?
It’s an old saying that people used to chide someone who did or said something stupid. I know nothing about his wife and I wasn’t trying to be callous. That said, I think Kondracke’s a cretin.
I saw that too. Mort has become a joke, I’m afraid. He would have been fine (but I’d still disagree) if he had stopped after he said she wasn’t qualified but when he went on to justify Obama’s b>experience</b> simply because he’s been running for president, well, I just had to belly laugh.

Mrs. Kondracke died just about 4 years ago this week after a long time suffering Parkinsons. He wrote a book about it.
Just because he made an incredibly dumb and incomprehensble statement is no reason to bring his wife into this discussion.
I’m gonna get flamed for this, but, here goes... Michael Weiner (yet that’s his real name) doesn’t much care for evangelical Christians. Same is true of many Jewish people. Lot’s of excuses why this is so, (pogroms, etc.) and few real reasons. It’s us vs. them thing to some. Which is why the evangelical conservative wing bothers them. Tribal. Flame on. Palin is Assembly of God or some such IIRC, and therefore untermenchen.
He can say it but can not defend such a statement. A Governor trumps a Senator. Palin is more qualified than Obama. McCain and Biden are somewhat equal except McCain has led troops and is a former war hero so he trumps Biden. Both McCain and Palin have lead people. Neither Obama nor Biden have run anything except their mouths.
I am 100% behind McCain-Palin and I would feel more comfortable with Palin as commander in chief than almost any Democrat. I respect the right of others to question her qualifications, so long as they do so in good faith. But the idea that running for president qualifies anyone for the job is absurd. By that criteria, Norman Thomas and Angela Davis would make excellent leaders.
