That would be roughly I-30 to I-40 to I-81 to I-66.

Well, less people to evacuate then. I’ve been watching Jindal jumping all over the disaster plan. Thank goodness someone with a brain is the governor there now. Whatever happened to Blanco anyway?

I wasn’t sure if the chocolate mayor was still there. Too bad for NO.

I would expect that Jindal's common sense trumps Nagin's Navy:

Hmmmm....I’d miss Atlanta traffic too. (I’m from Atl though, so it’s special traffic and I wouldn’t mind it...hubby hates all traffic, unless it’s in NOLA, and then, it’s “character.” lol)

Oh, but the trees are turning in the mountains aren’t they?

20 and 10 are both pretty blah.

thx :)

Don’t fool yourself. All that Katrina crap was just a plan by the Democrats and media to make President Bush look bad, and they hoped help in the next election. If people had to loose their lives and property to accomplish this, so be it!

As one of the Democrat’s mentor and idol said, “You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.”

Thanks for the ping. My folks are in Punta Gorda, FL and, after experiencing Charlie, are taking no chances and are already preparing for action.

Got your ping.

Doesn't TS stand for Trans Sexual?

I don't think I want to check out this thread, but I feel bad for the folks along the gulf. That type of stuff has no place anywhere.

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.

I have no faith in Nagin. I hope somebody takes charge of the buses to get those people out.

I don't know if you ever got your answer -- Gaston was from Beauty & the Beast, Gustav was from Ratatouille.

the only problem I see here...is that this route bypasses Raleigh, NC. And a certain Freeper and well...grandmama to my babies would probably come after all y’all for denying her grandbaby hugs. :P

Maybe we can detour from western NC and then finish up on 85-95? I’m going to have to look at a map later today.

But right now, I need to intervene...the little ones are both trying to feed peanut butter/raisin celery sticks to the dog. He’s dropping slimy but very clean celery on the dining room floor. EWWWWWWW!!!!

"I have a question for those of you who’ve been following NOLA more than I have lately."

Something I read recently:

87% of all projects/programs are behind schedule and the main reason given is illiteracy...47% of NO residents can't read or read so poorly that they are unable to read simple government forms, etc.

Thanks for the ping. We're still drying out in N. Georgia from Fay. Lake Lanier is finally up 2 feet and the summer's almost over. Haven't been able to get the boat out of the cove since early 2007.

Stay safe, all on the coast,
