From what I heard from our friends is that all hotels are full in northwest La. Shreveport area. Also as stated earlier Jackson Miss is sold out . East Texas filling up very fast . People may have to travel to southern Arkansas / or Memphis Tennessesse to find hotel rooms.
I’m not sure of traffic flows . We have friends in LA & Mississippi who we been talking too . My husband went to Ole Miss in Oxford Miss . We don’t live near LA Or Miss our friends do .

You can also go to Holiday Inn website & check to see if rooms are accessible to book

I just thought I share the info about getting a hotel just to be on the safe side , because the longer you wait the harder to find a room

By Sat evening between 1900 to about midnight, Key West could expect <45Kts ESE. Winds will shift further S over the next 12 hours (to SE) <45kts. By sunrise Sunday winds will be nearly S at about 30tts.

However, by midnight Thur 4 Sep, Hanna will be causing Florida some serious grief. In the Keys by then, winds will be NNW <45kt (N @ 50-60kts Miami). The whole Eastern Florida coast needs to watch out for Hanna.

Wednesday the entire Bahama Island region will be under the grips of Hanna. Begining early Tuesday morning, Hanna will be over the Turk Islands and move NW from there towards West Palm Beach. By Wednesday after noon expet winds to be <60kts @ EENE (Grand Bahama) and S (Turk Islands). Winds will be significantly higher between those two points.

At this time Texarkana - Shreveport, E TX area is NOT the area I’d want to evacuate to. I’m looking at Gustov to be 91W 24N @ 0100 CDT 1 Sep. I’d expect NO winds E @ <65kts.

By 0700 CDT 1 Sep, I’d expect Gustov to be near 92W 28N (NO winds E-ESE @ <50kts) and landfall would be near Lake Charles shortly after noon (NO winds SSE @ <45kts). Subsequent motion will be towards Texarkana - Shreveport, where winds will be much less of an issue; flooding from torrential rain will be the greatest threat in those areas (along with the ever present possible isolated tornados here or there).

"...be advised there may be another storm right after this one in a few days and it may go to the east of NO..."

Hannah? Go easy on those east of NO forecasts...I'm over here!

That’s good. Many people have stayed behind because they wouldn’t leave their pets. For years we spent time and money trying to figure out the psych of it. Finally shelters started getting smart and said forget about the whys...just make a place for the pets to go too.

Well, I just found out there is going to be a shelter on post, so that is where we will go if it hits here. I feel so much better and I know my husband will be relieved.

When there were fires in San Diego my DIL and 2 grandsons were brought in by the Navy. They got the “last” room. It was a relief for us and my son that was out to sea.

I work at a national call center for shuittle companies. I just had to cancel two reservations out of NO because the hotel they were in (Hilton NO Riverside) is closing tomorrow (8/30) at 11:00am. They told me there’s a mandatory evacuation of some areas of NO as of right now.
