Winter Haven, in the middle of the state directly east of Tampa, got 2.84 inches of rain from Tuesday to Friday of last week. We get T'storms that produce more rain in an hour.

OTOH - Relations on Merrit Island got over 25 inches. Manatees loved it, new puppy did not.

Yeah no doubt,the only damage we can get from Gustave is property since all the tourists were kicked out under fay, there aren’t many who returned to kick out again.

What kind of wind environment is prevailing in the GOM these days? The water temp map there certainly shows potential for development into a major hurricane, especially if it follows the tracks that take it over the western tip of Cuba.

Our church helped start an orphanage there after the hurricane (can’t remember which one, but I think it was in 2004). We have mission trips there every year, and the stories are so sad. This is a place that needs so much.

Just as I suspected, I was the recipient of "the stern look" after insisting the hurricane screens be put away yesterday. I'll have to work on my timing next year.
