It’s showing some power.
Yikes. I’m feeling like I need to “Spring” clean.
You’re welcome. And this one is giving me a sick feeling as well right now.
Recently the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has discovered that these hot towers appear when the hurricane is about to intensify.

GFDL has it sitting off the mouth of the Mississippi by Tuesday am.
Isn’t this about the same track as Katrina?
TAW
Katrina entered the gulf by passing over south Florida rather than shooting the Yucatan/Cuba gap, if that’s what Gustav does end up doing.
Katrina went across Florida and then looped through the Eastern Gulf and north to the LA/MS border. Gustav is projected to track south of Cuba.
Any idea where the loop currents are currently located in the Gulf? That’s the ultimate wilcard, IMO.
I’m going to laugh my butt off if this thing slams into NOLA.
So that’s what drew me here. The GFDL run looked too familiar.
The track has been changed on this one several times, how likely is yet another change? How strong are the steering currents?
(re: sick feeling in the pit of the belly)
I feel it, too. (I’m around Baton Rouge, LA)
I must need some chocolate. *worry*
Thanks.
(re: laughing if it hits New Orleans)
It will not be funny. AT ALL
Shame on you!
Wish I knew the answer. What I do know is the models are in unusual agreement.
If it were me, unless I lived in a bunker, I might want to head North on one of the interstates before all the good rooms were gone. As usual FR is ahead of everyone and everything in breaking.
