How about Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison for VP?

I don't feel comfortable with Romney or Pawlenty. Why not a strong female choice to take on Biden?

Best pick for McCain by far - conservative (for the most part), popular, female, experienced, charming. While she’s certainly not perfect tell me which of the others is.

I tend to concur. She is disliked by many FReepers but that is no big deal. She was interviewed numerous times by Fox News and seems to me to be wiser than most.

She is a woman, but she is a Texas woman. I don’t know if that will go too well in Yankee land

She’s pro-choice as someone else already said. She believes that roe v wade should remain the law of the land and has voted that way for nonbinding resolutions.

Palin is a better choice if you want to win the election.

KBH is a supporter of ‘’Roe v. Wade’’, but many in TX do not know this.

According to a poll of Capitol Hill staffers just conducted by Washingtonian Magazine, KBH is the second "meanest" person in the U. S. Senate. The only Senator who beats Kay in this category is Barbara Milkulski!

(And number three on the list is Arlin Spector. He used to win the annual "meanest" vote hands down. I guess his cancer has mellowed him a bit.)

*a family to raise.*

Does that go for when the father is on deployment and the wife works and there are kids.

So your are saying no one goes on deployment so a parent is at home with the kids.

Palin will not be out of DC everyday for 4 yrs. and she does have a husband.

How about a 2-fer? Condi is both Black and female.

If she was a lesbian would she be a 3-fer?

It's really funny how people here laugh at the 'Rats for their identity politics, and yet many people here are obsessed with finding a black, a woman, or a 2-fer so that we can be just like the 'Rats.

Condi is pro-abortion, pro-multiculturalism, and is probably liberal on nearly every domestic issue. She has foreign policy experience but she's botched things as often as she's succeeded.

I still remember when Ronald Reagan decided to "make history" by appointing the first woman to the Supreme Court. He ended up wasting an opportunity to truly re-shape the court, and we were stuck with liberal justice Sandra O'Connor for a quarter of a century.

McCain should pick a conservative, and not worry about matching or trumping the 'Rats on gender and race tactics.

If you are going to go that route, go all the way and get Colin Powell.

Kay Bailey has repeatedly said she wasn’t interested. She did the same yesterday on her Texas Bus tour. She said she wanted to work to get Republicans elected this fall and then maybe begin thinking about moving back to Texas. In other words, the governorship in two years.

And many of us will actively campaign against Kay Bailey for Gov. We have enough troubles with Slick Rick, the RINO now in Austin.

she brings nothing to the table. McCain will already win Texas. He doesn’t need her. He needs a running mate who will deliver a blue state.

She’s a pro-abortion moderate who wouldn’t know the Constitution if it came up and bit her.

No.

No more open borders politicians.

Sex and race have nothing to do with it. Qualifications do.

>> Also do we know her position on other things such as guns, taxes and health care?

She’s either for or against all of them, depending on which way the political winds are blowing.

She’s an inside the beltway politico with a capital P.

She’s a backroom dealer. Not a leader. Not really even a reliable conservative, IMO.

No thanks to KBH for VP.

Heck, we’ll probably be seeing her soon enough running for Governor. If she wins, we’ll have the Trans-Texas Corridor shoved up our heinies so fast it’ll make your head swim — and liberal attitudes on wetbacks to boot. She’s Rick Perry with a skirt.
