With the Biden pick, Obama has just opened a huge opportunity for McCain!
If McCain picks Palin, he will win a landslide, not seen since the election of President Ronald Reagan.
For all the same reasons. This could change history.
“What state besides Alaska would she help carry?”
What state besides Delaware will Biden help Obama win.
(That he would not have won without him?)
Early in this election cycle, when Republican candidates were being delivered to the debates in a bus, I declared my opposition to almost all of them. One by one, they fell by the wayside and at the end only McCain was left standing. Since I had long before decided against voting for him I was left to write in a candidate.
All that was before Palin walked on the stage. If McCain chooses her as his running mate I will vote for them. If he screws around and picks Romney I will go ahead and vote for Ron Paul. Paul may not win but he’s not a loser like Romney and I believe Palin would make a strong President if McCain should be unable to finish his term.
Besides, with Obama and Biden both being pro-abortion the fact that Palin is staunchly pro-life will swing a bunch of voters to the Republican side.
Since when has being mayor, oops I mean governor, of Alaska been preparation for being president?
If something happened to McCain, I’m sure Dick Cheney would unretire to help Palin and the USA. Cheney’s younger than McCain and less than 2-years older than Biden.
Assuming she would be a good pick - I've just today heard of her - announcing it today would invite more criticisms that McCain is following Obama's lead.
Since when has the constitution said you have to be at minimum a governor of a large state?
Obama’s the prince without wisdom and experience that you speak of not being ready for the office of President.
Now that Obama has really screwed the pooch with his VP choice, McCain’s selection for VP is going to be the biggest decision he’s ever made in his life. McCain really needs to think this through and not allow his campaign or the media turn it into the circus that Obama’s pick became.
From what I hear; there is a good chance that some(?) states will refuse to put o’bama on their ballot. If so, it’ll be the most lopsided election in our history. For,,,guess who.
You know the media will howl "token pick" or "sign of desparation".
However, I think she would be a fine VP and maybe a fine President. Her positions sound right - I just have never heard her defend them. Having never seen her in action, I'm unsure.
Checkmate, is not a move of desperation. :)
In 1984 America was happy with Reagan. In 2008, America wants change. They want something different than 4 men of DC as choices. A lot more women voters are up for grabs than blacks. Blacks will vote 96% for Obama.
PRO-LIFE trumps everything, doesn't it?
CONSERVATIVE through and through does, too.
If McCain picks an unknown, he/she will be a household name immediately.
McCain's a wily ol' fox. I can't wait to see who he picks.
I think Kay Bailey Hutchison is a better choice. She has more experience than Palin and Obama (maybe even combined). She can attack the dems. She’s pro drilling in ANWR and she’s got lots of experience in foreign relations.
Why don’t you set the bar lower? Just about everyone on FR is qualified by that criteria.
That’s easy, she has hair, Biden...
I won’t argue with your logic. The only negative for her is that she is another long-time Washington insider, where Gov. Palin is both a chief executive and Washtington outsider...read that fresh face.
What state besides Delaware is Biden going to help carry? All VP candidates do not have to come from Florida, New York or California.
Google-— Sarah Palin Vogue Cover-—click “Images” and it’ll come up.
