Olympics - French 4x100 swim team predicts, "We'll smash U.S." - Au contraire!

The French were ‘stunned’.

Phelps and the American team were ecstatic.

Even the teams that came in #4 and #5 broke the old record and still lost. That is how fast this event was.

What aggravates me with the NBC commentators/announcers is this:
For several events the commentators have basically handed other teams the gold medals BEFORE the event takes place. They have implied that the Americans didn't stand a chance of winning.
And in those events, Americans ended up winning.

If there is any 'smashing', it should be the mouths of the commentators.

The domestic partner, who professes to hate swimming, was cheering as well and the emotional reaction of the rest of the team, especially Phelps, was so great that he is now interested in the swimming and cheering for Phelps.

Attention Cheese-eating French Surrender Monkeys:

You have just experienced a good-ol’ American butt whoppin’.

It is what happens when someone steps up and says “We will smash/beat/hurt/destroy the Americans”.

Look down through history. What happened to all of them? The same thing that happened to you yesterday.

I hope you learned a vauable lesson about what happens when you ‘talk smack’ against the United States of America.

That is all.

If anyone has a link to the race at youtube or any place other than NBC, I'd appreciate it.

The NBC video isn't Linux-friendly.

As a competitive swimmer, I can say this was simply the most incredible race I have ever seen. Phelps broke the American record, but Lezak...what he did is simply not human. Just incredible.

I jumped up with fist in the air and put one hand right into the ceiling fan.

That had to be the best swimming event I’ve ever seen. The Frenchman actually looked surprised under the water when he looked over and saw Lezak.
