After a bit of hunting, I found the list of nominees. I was pleased to see that “STAR TREK NEW VOYAGES: World Enough and Time” actually had been nominated for a HUGO award. I’ve worked with the STNV crew (albeit not on this episode), and constantly amazed what can come out of a guy and a dream with a LARGE Garage.
I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!!

The Yiddish Policemen’s Union was fascinating but I admit I never thought of it as science fiction, even though it did describe an alternate reality. Interesting choice.

The only one on that list I’ve read was Connie Willis’s (brilliant) novella. I see they’re continuing to see how many awards they can give that woman before she actually has any, you know, name recognition. (She must have a dozen by now, counting the Nebulas too)

Unfortunately she is a slow writer and it’s been 8 years since her last full-length novel. However she is hands down the best science fiction writer alive today.

Dang, I was really rooting for John Scalzi’s novel. He’s a very entertaining writer. Bot odd him getting best fan writer, what with having a good four published SF novels under his belt....
