Dushku Upsets Animal Lovers with Hunting Boasts

Former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" actress Eliza Dushku has upset animal rights activists after she revealed she hunts elk and deer.

The actress proudly showed off her bow and arrow skills on late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Wednesday and boasted about killing a deer in Oklahoma last Christmas.

She also revealed she was hunting for elk in Colorado when she landed her role in the upcoming TV series "Dollhouse."

Realizing the studio audience had turned on her over her Bambi-killing antics, Dushku joked, "My mother called me herself and said, 'You're a liberal from New England, what the 'f' are you doing in Oklahoma shooting things."

And when Kimmel took the actress to task for her hunting boasts, she defended her actions by stating, "When you're in a relationship with somebody you have to, like, experience things that they do."

She added, "A lot of people eat meat ... and I eat what I kill."

[...]

A spokeswoman for [PETA] says, "Slaying bloodthirsty vampires on 'Buffy' is brave, but slaying innocent animals where they live and raise their families is cowardly and cruel.

"Eliza is sorely out of step with the rest of the country; 95 percent of Americans oppose hunting."

Tell the lie, tell it often enough . . . . . .

But, then again, it IS PETA!! Nobody pays any attention to them, anyway.

That fake stat illustrates the bubble effect of those in Manhattan, Hollywood, Harvard, San Francisco and other pockets.....99% of the people THEY know are kooks....so they, sadly, probably actually BELIEVE that stat.

What was the old saw about someone not “knowing a single person who supported Bush” or something to that effect?

I was thinking along the line of a bottle of sparkling water with a sign that says “Please recycle me.” I can't for the life of me figure out what the scoring system is or what constitutes a “Trophy.”

For one thing, you could count the peace signs for points. Points could also be added for the t shirt worn, maybe with a John Lennon shirt worth one point and Che Guevera shirt worth ten.

I’m not sure if pot should count for or against the score. That probably depends on how much he had on him, and how much he had smoked.

Well, let’s think about this for a moment:

There should be some points for dreadlocks.

And there should be some more points for tie-dye.

Then we get into the icky stuff — how much hardware they have in their faces, piercings, tattoos, etc.

We need to subtract points for the trophy being stoned, etc.

I’m sure that if we got a committee together, we could get B&C to recognize an objective scoring methodology.

You beat me to it. And you’re right — Make the Che t-shirt a point multiplier.

Item #1: Great photo. This is one underappreciated woman in the looks department. Also I like that she speaks her mind. A pretty good actress too.

Liked her in Buffy. Now, juxtapose her to Rosie O’Donnell. See what I mean?

From what I've heard of studio audiences lately, they seem pretty uninformed about anything. They cheer the nonsense that liberals spout, and boo good old fashioned values.

Eliza stands head and shoulders above those that booed her.

She's more in touch in nature than these people ever will be!

An eighty-five pound draw weight? Those are some strong women!

Out and out lie. Must’ve got those numbers from the same “experts” that Obama keeps quoting.

I think it's safe to say that far more than five-percent of Americans with an opinion make up the clientèle of Cabela's and other retail hunting outfitters.

This is deflation of the cerebrum or outright delusional blather.

“This is deflation of the cerebrum...”

Or a possible cranial rectal inversion.

True, but I was trying to follow the Obama reference, if even in parody.

Just deflate your brains, people! I shouldn't joke about that, as some of the more bizarre New Agers are into trepanation, which I suppose makes them open minded. ;)

She was a good actress in Buffy and Angel, but I can’t say that I liked her in that role much - Faith was a pretty messed-up character. In any case, I can’t wait for Dollhouse!
