BTW Iran’s oil is also heavy and they cart it around in tankers. Not as many buyers as they would like.

Shell is investing $1 billion in Refinery expansion in the USA.

Principled? Misguided? Whatever the case I won’t be voting for John McCain. I am not convinced the number of people who won’t vote for John on principle, will cost him the election. Overall, that’s going to be a small group folks.

If John can’t win by a margin bigger than the paltry group that cannot in good conscience vote for him, then it will be because John couldn’t sell his own record and vision more effectively than a man with Obama’s record and vision could.

Let the R.P. put that in their pipe and smoke it.

Perhaps doing a little educational refresher, about what a Conservative is and why it is important to have one rule, between now and 2012, devising better primary rules, making sure a very small population base can’t determine the candidate before others have a chance to affect the decision on the nominee, might help prevent this sort of thing again.

If not, well perhaps Republicans are just too stupid to get out of their own way.

While the Bakken indeed constitutes a huge reserve, the fine particle size of the rock in that formation will make deriving a high flow rate of oil very difficult, nor will the fraction recovered be high without new technology.
