Conditions should be favorable for development and already pretty close into the U.S.
“drat...was looking forward to the photos.”
I’m sorry! Haha...but I could go out in my back yard where we are getting a little wind and rain and sensationalize some photos/video for you like the news reporters do..I could zoom in on the one lone twig that blew in my yard and talk about the “large gust of hurricane force wind that ripped it from it’s mother branch”...
Haha...really not too much excitement here in La Porte...
“The media is attempting to make something out of nothing so to speak.”
Haha,,,it’s ridiculous,,,although one reporter did just pick up some fish in a parking lot in galveston that blew out of the water...most interesting thing I have seen so far.
We’re getting heavy rain and strong wind in West Chambers Co. S. of I-10. I’ve had over 3” of rain so far.
Right now the COC is over Trinity bay/east bay.
The heavier rains are coming your way I do believe. Should be there in the next hour or so.
We’ve had some gusty winds and rain this morning but nothing that falls into the “big time” mode. It will be interesting to see how the day progresses. You OK where you’re at?
Yeah for now, far enough north to miss the wind so far, a little rain and little wind.
LOL! I saw that! That fish wasn't even flopping around.
Heavier rains are OK too, just don’t knock out our power with a tree limb. PLEASE! If I suddenly disappear you will know that is what happened.

Tropical Storm Edouard Discussion Number 9
Statement as of 11:00 am EDT on August 05, 2008
Edouard made landfall at 1200 UTC in the McFaddin National wildlife
Refuge on the Upper Texas coast between High Island and Sabine Pass
with maximum winds of about 55 kt. The cyclone is now beginning to
lose organization and weakening is forecast roughly in line with
the decay SHIPS model.
The center is becoming harder to locate in WSR-88D data...but the
initial motion is estimated to be 300/13. Model guidance is in
good agreement on a continued west-northwestward motion with
perhaps a slight reduction in forward speed until the cyclone
dissipates in 36-48 hours.

galveston bay here, heavy rain, winds 25ish, maybe 30 a while back.
Thanks for the local update. Will the weather cause a delay in opening the bar?
Heavy, steady rains up here at Inwood. They were lighter earlier this morning but as it goes on, they are getting heavier. Silly dog is sitting on the back patio watching. Some street flooding, but it’s Inwood, Antione floods if you look at it wrong. :-)
Well watch for reporters in boats :’)
What is the name of your bar? We don’t drink but we could stop in for a diet Coke next time we wander down that way. My earliest memories are of right were you are. My dad worked for the Humble Company and we lived in company housing right on the bay. I used to know the exact spot but there has been so much building there that I have lost all the old markers.
Raining steady, medium heavy here, no wind. Our dogs don’t like to get their feet wet so they will be doing their business on the back porch today. I don’t care I can wash it off.
Galveston:
I took a quick ride between rain bands.
All the stores are closed. No visible damage anywhere; no downed trees/limbs, etc. Several people surfing. The water is brown all the way to the horizon.
No fish jumped at me while I was down there, alas.
