My Dragonfly And Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Well, he is one of my favorite poets! It’s fine with me if he chewed grass with the cows ;0)

There are poets who write while in a non-drug induced trance. I’ve done it! Dolly Parton, wrote that she writes her music while staying in her mountain home -when there she fasts, and one gets a tad euphoric while fasting for long periods of time.

LOL..It did not even hit 100 today...
I am plenty hot, though..The Post office delivered my bank deposit to a bowling alley on the same street the bank is on..(No..I did not address it wrong)
Thank heavens the manager of the bowling alley called me. He opened it as most of us do when we are going through the mail without noticing..
Sweet dreams.

You are the Sense of Sight
You are a very observant, detail oriented person.
You are able to take in a lot of information at once.
You often see things that other people never notice.

You have a good eye for design and aesthetics.
You love to be surrounded by beauty - natural or not.
When you imagine how something should look, you see it clearly in your mind.

Good Evening, Tude

You are the Sense of Touch
You are a highly sensitive and easily moved person.
You love to get as close to other people as possible.
Human connection is very important to you.

You are also likely to be an animal lover who loves animals as much as humans.
In fact, you like almost anything soft!
You have expensive taste in clothes and furniture. It's all about the fabric.

Puppets Descending

We are but shadows of puppets,
Descending on strings from above,
From dimensions of will and of timelessness,
And at least one dimension of love.

The long, slow drop takes a lifetime,
But life isn’t what we had thought,
Here in the cave of our conscious,
In shadows we find what we’ve sought.

What we are perceiving as substance,
Is only the shadow poured down,
From an angel writhing in torment,
Descending on strings to the ground.

Expelled from a Presence of glory,
Compelled to a penance below,
The fuzzy outline of the shadow,
Gets sharper as we see it grow.

And the hazy outline of its future,
We see as an infancy here,
Where predictions of ending are valid,
As the shadow’s outline grows more clear.

A shadow of many dimensions,
With a substance and weight we perceive,
An illusion convincingly solid,
When the Light is extinguished, will leave.

Our soul doesn’t enter when we do,
From birth canals we call alive,
It falls, while we think we’re rising,
At the end of the trip it arrives.

And that’s when the puppet stops moving,
Having joined with its shadow below,
The delicate dance of descending,
Has made for a marvelous show.

You Are the Sense of Sound
You love to talk, but you also love to listen.
You are simply a natural conversationalist.
You can have a deep conversation that lasts for hours and come out of it feeling energized.

You have a good ear for foreign languages and accents of all sorts.
You can imitate people quite well.
You also are a huge lover of music. You probably love music more than most people you know.

Puppets Descending

Bob, I have read much of your writing. I think this is the best poem you have written since I began reading your writing.

The depth of this piece is amazing. The images you’ve painted are both light and airy, but deep, dark and mysterious.

Excellent piece of writing, thank you.

Good morning, everyone!

The old mill nestled deep in the cool forest
water slapping against old wet, soaked boards
swish, swish, the wheel turns,
grinding grains brought by villagers
stocking the larder for the coming cold months

The sounds inside the mill,
stone against stone, against grain
now a fine powder of flour
breads, pies, stews and pancakes
all to be stirred and blended
placed on an old worn wooded table for consumption

The old mills no longer needed now
power machines make quick work out of grains
but the ambiance of the old water wheel
serves up rich memories from the days of old.
