Looking forward to your Monday Presentation.
Have a great weekend, Cardhu. Don’t work too hard.
Is Tom Baker in there?
Looks empty to me...Looked up Tom Baker, never heard of him, till you’re ?
It’s actually a police box in Dr. Who. Tom Baker played the DR. in the 70’s and early 80’s.
oops, make that your.
Oh, T y for the backstory.
No problem. It’s one of those stupid shows that I liked as a kid. There’s a new version of it with a young actor playing the doctor on the sci-fi channel.
Sadly I am sans TV at the moment...well, more like for the next week or so.
S’alright, gives me more time for computer/FR!
I don’t do drugs, Free Republic is my addiction.
oooo shiver me timbers! That be scary!
Tom Baker lives about 10 miles from me in a village called Lenham
We still have one of those phone boxes in Ashford, in London they put several along the Thames even though they were never there originally.
Snugs, here is some interesting information I picked up from this link about Tom Baker:

Richard mentioned my recent TV post, and covered one of the shows which I didnt, but which I should have; Little Britain
I wasnt keen on the previous Rock Profiles show that Matt Lucas did, but Little Britain is wonderful. Im particularly fond of the narration done by Tom Baker, which is completely off the wall and bizarre.
Tom Baker is an interesting character. For years after finishing his stint as Doctor Who, hed have nothing to do with the show, but more recently (well, the last 10 or so years) has softened to the love that fans have for his portrayal of the Doctor.
Hes also written a very peculiar book, called The Boy Who Kicked Pigs. Its styled as a book for children, but has many knowing asides, and as the story proceeds it becomes darker and more twisted, with some very gruesome bits. Its quite a short book, and every other page is taken up by an illustration.
Very interesting and very, very funny.
He also wrote an autobiography Who On Earth Is Tom Baker (clever title, huh?) which sadly seems to be out of print. Ive heard that its well worth getting hold of so Ill see if I can hunt a copy down.
I once had the pleasure of meeting Tom, at a signing for a Doctor Who DVD, and he was a very friendly and BIG man. As Richard mentions, he was also in Black Adder, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) and has probably done more advert voice-overs than anyone else.
A funny, great and interesting man; a national treasure, in fact.
And hes got his own website - Tom Baker
Maj, they are awsome to watch. Once, a couple years ago, the parents and one baby were feeding (right outside my kitchen window), and the parents got spooked and took off, leaving the baby behind. The baby scrunched down real low, and stayed where he was. After about ten minutes, the baby took off looking for his parents. I never did see what spooked them, but was surprised to see the lack of protection for the little one.
I think I’ll avoid his orthodontist, but he sure doesn’t look like much of a seed eater to me. The smile is anything but friendly.
holy cow.. what is a javelina? (great biologist I am huh & too lazy to google)
some type of wild pig? how big are they - like in relationship to a standard poodle? or german shepherd?
are they like deer in that they get comfortable (and wont hurt) people after time around the yards & homes?
thanks Cardhu.. and we have all been missing you & your great contributions..
sometimes these computer breaks etc as frustrating as they are, give us time to re- assess. etc..
Hope you will get back to the grove you want in near future
had a nice outing at the Cleveland Air Show & watching the Blue Angels..
thinking of dutchess & thinking also that she & Jerry no doubt get there now & then. It is one of the national premier air shows nationally.
glorious day in NE Ohio. watched show from beach.. too crowded but still okay.. (was REMOTE & EMPTY compared to most... but I LIKE VERY EMPTY). Weather was ideal & only down thing was that I forgot my camera
