Questions about Gods existence often troubled H. A. Hodges, a brilliant young professor of philosophy at Oxford University. One day as he strolled down the street, he passed by an art store. His attention was gripped by a simple picture in the window. It showed Jesus kneeling to wash His disciples feet.
Hodges knew the story recorded in John 13God incarnate washing human feet. But suddenly the sheer meaning of that scene gripped the heart of this young philosopher. GodGod!humbling Himself to do that lowliest of tasks! He thought, If God is like that, then that God shall be my God! Seeing that painting was one of the circumstances that caused Hodges to surrender his life to the true Godthe foot-washing God.
We Christians sometimes take Gods existence for granted. We believe what the Bible tells us about the eternal Spirit who had no beginning and whose existence will never end. But we may wonder sometimes about His character. If He allows disaster, how could He also be kind and loving?
As we read John 13 thoughtfully, we see that God is the foot-washing God. His unfathomable, sacrificial love for us should cause us to surrender to Him too.
Thank you, grannie..Hope your day goes well, too!
I love tufted titmice..Great picture of one. They are here year round.

We have a lot of them too. Thanks by the way. I have heard the titmouse is related to the chicadee....don’t know for sure. I haven’t answered my pings yet this morning.
I framed that little pic. last night so I could post it today!
Remember I told you about the little well on top of my hummingbird feeder.....I forgot to tell you that the little yellow finches love to get their water from there! They are so cute drinking there. Nature is so beautiful. I have a few scattered leaves falling from those huge poplar trees...dread that!
Good Morning Luv, there’s my romantic song again. Think I will listen while I clean up the kitchen!
Thanks!
Very pretty Meg. Quaint building, isn’t it? I may wear my red capri’s today. Haven’t dressed yet.
Great looking group of performers, Dolly. Pretty girls!
I dread the leaves falling!
I haven’t bought another feeder..I found another one I had..but I remember what you said about the “well”..I love the show God’s gifts of nature give us.
I don’t want to be reminded of Christmas yet, Amy~~LOl~~ Very cute graphic though.
I just got one of those ‘red’ warnings they could not find Billie and I went duh to myself, then I noticed I had three L’s in her name! These computers are too smart to comprehend.
Beautiful scenery and music........who is the artist?
Losing a tooth is a right of passage every child goes through... and in the USA, many children celebrate this event with a visit from the tooth fairy! Children put the disembodied tooth under their pillow, and while they sleep, the tooth fairy visits and replaces the tooth with money!
But did you know that the whole thing started because people believed burying a child's tooth in the back yard would ward off evil spirits and witches, and also allow children's new teeth to grow? As cities grew and not everyone had backyards at their disposal, people started burying the teeth in potted plants instead, and eventually transitioned to "burying" teeth under the pillow.
The original tooth fairy was actually a Tooth Mouse. The Tooth Mouse still visits children in many countries, replacing their lost teeth with money or gifts. I guess that takes a little of the pressure off the Tooth Fairy!
Be an Angel Day
Daffodil Day
Eat A Peach Day
There are also a couple of state festivals; I will make an additional post.
Ooooooh.......I want strawberries in chocolate now!
The other day when we were talking peaches, I had to go to roadside market and get some peaches and frankly, just finished eating the last one a few minutes ago.
Will probably get strawberries soon....really!
Beautiful graphic!
