I was hoping you private eyes wouldn't notice--and would move on to the cartoon. (Don't tell the mods I posted the poem without modification.) LOL!
Billie, great follow-up photo. (You may have saved me from banishment to Siberia--again.) . Well, Amy told us to keep an eye on OESY while she was gone. :) She said Mama Bear and I should keep nanny's number handy..... you know.....just in case OESY got out of hand. :)
Okay, I hope you know I'm just kidding, cause you are so funny and keep us so entertained. :)

Today we celebrate.....

Joke Day

Full Moon Day

August 16th 2008 is the Full Sturgeon Moon.
Full Moon Names and Their Meanings
and, Roller Coaster Day

Thrill-seekers should make their way to the Nagashima Spaland amusement
park in western Japan. It is home to the Steel Dragon 2000, the worlds largest
roller coaster. Costing over $50 million to build, it covers 8,133 feet of total
track length and reaches heights of 318 feet.

I like that. She's sitting there, thinking just how to express her love.....and what better way than Elizabeth Barrett Browning's "How do I love thee, let me count the ways......."

Chip Off The Ol Block
Be imitators of God as dear children. Ephesians 5:1
Ill never forget the time I was asked to bring my family to a banquet where I was to be the speaker. After dinner, my son Matt came up to me and asked to sit on my lap. Sure, I said and picked him up.
Over the course of his young life, Matt had watched me strike up conversations with lots of strangers. As an unrepentant people-person, in restaurants I would often look at the servers name tag and start my order with, Hey, Barbara, how are you today? To which my kids would inevitably say, Dad, you embarrass us!
But now, sitting on my lap, Matt turned to the big-shot organizer of the banquet next to me, read his name tag, and stuck out his little hand, saying, Hey, John, how are you? A proud moment for me! He was acting just like his dada chip off the ol block!
This is exactly what Paul had in mind when he exhorted us to be imitators of God (Eph. 5:1). But life has a way of making us anything but like God. We are often uncaring, short-tempered, grumpy, and unforgivingflat-out too much like ourselves and not enough like Him!
Remember, we are saved to bear the Family resemblance, to become increasingly more like Jesus and less like ourselves.
O to be like Thee, blessed Redeemer,
This is my constant longing and prayer;
Gladly Ill forfeit all of earths treasures,
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear. Chisholm

I was hoping you private eyes wouldn't notice--and would move on to the cartoon. (Don't tell the mods I posted the poem without modification.) LOL! LOL! This one didn't! I had to go back up the thread looking to see what the commotion was all about. I really must pay better attention - all I saw was the cartoon. ;-)

I was having trouble viewing them it turned out that my anti virus program was not installed properly and thought that the power point files were infected.

Yep! These are much more fun than the last holidays you 'got'!
OESY can post more awesome Sand Sculptures....like the one you just did. :)
I'll post a twofer (love and roller coasters) :)

Are you serious blue cheese and watermelon. I love blue cheese but the thought of it with fresh fruit unless pineapple on a cocktail stick.
Though on the other hand it is traditonal in parts of Britain to serve it with rich fruit cake or with grapes for dessert of cheese and biscuits (crackers).

Hi snugs. It tastes JUST like a banana split, except without the ice cream and pudding instead. It's one of the best desserts I've ever had....and, just from looking at the recipe, really easy to make too!
I do think I will need to head up to the grocery store today to get the ingredients. ;-)
Nan, you do make good pies! That peanut butter pie that you told me about is a winner too.

That's clever. How do you find these things? That's a 'two birds with one stone' graphic if I've ever seen one. LOL!

We're getting some much-needed rain, but also a little thunder rumbling in the distance, and as our power is so prone to hiccup, am going to shut down for a bit before mother nature does it for me.
Have a great day - will check in later.

That's clever. How do you find these things? That's a 'two birds with one stone' graphic if I've ever seen one. LOL! That's what I thought, too! It was purely coincidence - I've had that little valentine gif for years! Voila! It fit two of today's perfectly!
Gotta go. So glad you had some fun holidays after Friday's duds. :)
To: MEG33
Oh, how idyllic is that? Looks like a perfect summer's day.
Good morning, MEG. :-)
To: Mama_Bear; WVNan
Sounds wonderful do you think nan would give me the recipe, I think dad would like it especially the banana one.
