They'll be easy to recognize as they all tend to favor Kevlar clothing in a camouflage pattern. No need to worry about accommodating them; they will be bringing their own land, sea, and air transportation, supply trains, and fireworks. Lots and lots of fireworks.

Wow! That sounds just like home! ;-)

We get our fill of China when we go shopping. But you fare well and tell us about it.

As a lifelong Toronto resident I’ll be laughing at the fiasco. They should’ve held the games here but the Chinese are more talented at bribing IOC delegates than Canadians are.

I would if I could,so I could see our Olympians represent our country and do their best. It would be a proud moment for me no matter where it was held. And I’d love to show my support for these people who have spent so much of their life training for a chance to represent us. I would love the chance to meet people from all over the world, I’d imagine that that many people all gathered for one common cause would be pretty awesome indeed. The best of the best, gathered in one place.

In Canada we have a good setup- the games are being televised on the government-run CBC which means that nobody has to worry about their favourite shows getting pre-empted (nobody watches CBC).

Two people of my personal acquaintance are in the hospital now (one is dying) and have traveled to China within the last 3 years.

Some serious respiratory contagion is going on. They are NOT allowed visitors.

If the airfair was free, if I had free event tickets, if I had a free place to stay, and free transportation - the answer is still NO.

I have been to Chi-com land before. You could not get me there again on a bet. It stinks and it sucks. It is clear the fix is in for the Chinese to win a significant number of medals. All activities at these games should go into history with an asterisk after them for many reasons.

I lack both the money and the passport to go, but I’ll watch on TV. As it turns out, I know someone who’s going to be competing, so that definitely trumps any ideas I had of boycotting it on TV.

I don’t like severe air pollution, so no, none of my family is coming, in fact I don’t know anyone who is going.

The implication being that the contagion was acquired in China?

Correction: Check this ChiCom girl out. This is pretty pathetic!

You know, I enjoy hunting ChiCom trolls as much as anyone, but I'm getting a little sick of freepers busting on anyone from China who joins up here. Why can't people just assume that someone comes here in good faith until proven otherwise?

ADAARDIS, I apologize on behalf of some of the overly sensitive posters here. The majority of us hate your government but like your people.
