Something must be very wrong with Mr. Bale. Attacking, allegedly, your mother and sister is a dreadful accusation...esepcially when Mom and Sis file the complaint.

I hope he enjoyed the premiere.

At this point, it is an accusation. He should be presumed innocent until found guilty.

The article has few details. The police presume he is innocent, but will investigate. According to the article, his mother and sister lodged a complaint, and he “allegedly lashed out while staying at London’s Dorchester hotel on Sunday.”

It’s the HEADLINE that uses the word “assault.” That choice was made by the editor, for whatever reason. I respect the integrity of used car salesmen over that that of editors.

It seems to be a fact that mother and sister lodged a complaint, but that does not mean that he “assaulted” them. I lodged a complaint against my neighbor for letting his dogs bark at me non-stop. I suppose you could say that my neighbor “lashed out” by leaving the dogs out and that I “lashed out” by calling the city. But there was no assault by anyone.

I’m thinking the relatives are trying to squeeze money out of them.

Thought this might be about Gloria Steinem who was married to Bale's father for a few years.

Christian Bale looks likeable enough but he did play some pretty grim characters in American Psycho, The Machinist, Harsh Times, so maybe he was channelling something in those roles.
