Tropical Storm Dolly

Newly formed Tropical Storm Dolly over the NW Caribbean Sea near 18.4N 84.2W. 1008 MB at 11AM this morning. Max sustained winds 40KT, gusts 50KT, moving NW at 15KT.

We actually get a “fog” over Cross Lake sometimes,,,

Humidity over 100%,,,

I’ll be sooooo glad when September gets here...;0)

I was trying to ping you and it kept going to the first post.She was having chest pains and trouble breathing the last time I talked to her.She died a few days later.

Here in Brownsville, it’s very warm. Clouds are racing across the sky. The sun is shining thru. Not even a breeze though. There is a stillness in the air.

Quite a few actually. Houston is in no danger, but we had near tropical force winds for a few hours this afternoon and some fairly brief showers from what were clearly banding clouds from this storm.

Tomorrow will be more intense, of course.

If I lived in Brownsville, I'd be worried. Even more so if I lived on S. Padre Island.

Even if it blossoms to a category 2 storm, that’s not enough to severely damage well-built homes. Crappy colonias and old mobile homes are a different matter.

But if an area gets 20 inches of rainfall, it doesn’t matter how good the home is.
