Newly formed Tropical Storm Dolly over the NW Caribbean Sea near 18.4N 84.2W. 1008 MB at 11AM this morning. Max sustained winds 40KT, gusts 50KT, moving NW at 15KT.
We actually get a “fog” over Cross Lake sometimes,,,
Humidity over 100%,,,
I’ll be sooooo glad when September gets here...;0)
Oh LORD!...
It rarely changes for us, 3 days a year maybe. LOL
Very missed by all of us.(((Hugs)))
Thanks..... now I seem to remember that... Poor Rte.
I don’t remember her being in ill health. Prayers.
I was trying to ping you and it kept going to the first post. She was having chest pains and trouble breathing the last time I talked to her.She died a few days later.
May the Lord keep her. Amen.
How are things in Texas? Any rain bands coming inland yet?
Well, cindydawg’s our freeper closest to the action; seems the majority of us following Dolly are in drought-stricken centex, looking for relief.
Here in Brownsville, it’s very warm. Clouds are racing across the sky. The sun is shining thru. Not even a breeze though. There is a stillness in the air.
TANKS,,,She was a very dear FRiend,,,
Here’s hoping this is a just a rain maker that wets all of Texas that needs it.
I hate to hear that :’(
I know CindyDawg.Been a hard couple years here.We all get to know each other. They are with God and that is our comfort.
Quite a few actually. Houston is in no danger, but we had near tropical force winds for a few hours this afternoon and some fairly brief showers from what were clearly banding clouds from this storm.
Tomorrow will be more intense, of course.
If I lived in Brownsville, I'd be worried. Even more so if I lived on S. Padre Island.

The Rio Grande Valley is toast. I don’t think this will strike even as high as Kenedy County.
Lot’s of concerns about the levees
Even if it blossoms to a category 2 storm, that’s not enough to severely damage well-built homes. Crappy colonias and old mobile homes are a different matter.
But if an area gets 20 inches of rainfall, it doesn’t matter how good the home is.
Well nothing we can do now but pray and try to get thru it.
Prayers for everyone in the path of this storm to be safe!
