Interesting side note: Jefferson had red hair. Kinda makes him seem real, doesn’t it?

Yep.

TJ wasn't much of a speaker. He suffered from a stuttering problem well into early adulthood. Because of this, he did not deliver the State of the Union Address in person. He submitted it in writing. The practice of delivering it in person did not start again until the tenure of Woodrow Wilson.

That makes him (Jefferson) seem even more real to me.

Both he and Washington were very tall for their day (6'2").

"TJ wasn't much of a speaker. "

Today while speaking to a group of new citizens at Monticello, President Bush said that Jefferson had only made public speeches twice during his Presidency. A practice most people wish President's would adhere to today.

Everybody laughed.

That damn John Adams stacked the court after losing the election...and the Marbury appointment could be real trouble for the Republic.

Remember, Jefferson was the guy who introduced french fries to America.

What a contribution. 8^P
