In an era of McNuggets and McChicken sandwiches, this bird brings new meaning to the term “fast food.”

(A brown hen has taken up residence outside a McDonald’s in Temecula and, try as they might, neither the employees nor the customers can catch her.)

That’s like a dog hanging out in front of a Chinese restaurant in Peking. Sure everything seems OK, until they catch you. Next thing you know, you’re the number 12, extra spicy, on the menu.

(It has been almost four months...

That looks more like a rooster to me. The young roosters have to leave their birth flocks when they reach puberty. We had one turn up in our yard from our neighbor's flock about a 1/2 mile away. He roosted in a juniper for a while, but was caught by our dog and the MR, and given to a friend ( who ate him).

The way to catch chickens to is wait for nightfall and get them while it's dark and they are in the resting state. Otherwise it's pretty difficult.

Since Temecula is in our general area, this story was covered around a month ago; coincidentally, the bird got netted by two employess the day the story ran, and was taken home by one of them that keeps a few chiggins in the yard.

That’s like a dog hanging out in front of a Chinese restaurant in Peking.

“Peking” became “Beijing” in 1979, because “Beijing” is supposed to be closer to how the Chinese themselves pronounce the name of that city.

But Peking duck is still called Peking duck. Go figure.
