Somebody posted a pic on another thread of what looks like a cat jumping at a hawk. Are you familiar with it?

"How else can you slay the intergalactic dragons, beasties, and otherwise unkempt denizens of odd planets?" Exactly my thinking. (But of course there's a twist.)

I have some kinfolk visiting and needed to go back to work a few days to rest up. One niece is about 4 and hasn’t seen me very often and was shy around me until she got a super soaker.

None of my relatives (except for an older brother) wants to spend any time in Vegas. I think I’d have to look really hard for anyone of them who has a niece or nephew younger than 20.

"OK. Im listening. What twist? Shortly into the first chapter, you discover that the sword is used in fantasy adventures played out by the lonely space scout. It's just a form of entertainment.
But then, when he really gets in trouble ...

While I engage in frequent in depth conversation about Schrödinger’s Cat and the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies I still get confused about relativity. I guess she must be a grand niece.
It was a hot day and while she was distracted squirting me my brother got her with ice.

Hope you’ve recovered well from your day at the parks.
I spent the day driving 420 miles through the hot and smoky Central Valley. BLEAH!
We’ll likely end up slating a Disneyland trip eventually, if for no other reason than the park in Anaheim is like the American Mecca; it’s one of those places you simply MUST visit at least once, but at the going ticket prices, it’ll be a vacation destination in and of itself.

The Dwarven singing is quite nice this time of year.
Yes it sounds like discordant burping punctuated with hollow wooden skull knocks and what may be metal chimes hammered by a dispeptic mutant gerbil that mainlined 15 Vivarin, but it is kinda nice.
Especially compared to the sounds of nasty furtive eating in the underdark...

We try not to acknowledge the balrog in the woodpile, it tends to lead to bad things.
Like our woodpile bursting into flames and oldish men being thrown off partially completed bridges after playing ‘bad tollkeeper’.

Note to self: Use something a bit more stout than an old wooden stick to fight off horrid, flaming, smoke demons.

Yes, while leaning on the intercom button.
The growling of your stomach added to the... crunching noises echoing down the hallways is rather unnerving.

And try not to point to nearby brooms when someone needs something to fend off horrid, flaming, smoke demons.

Some of the exotic materials we're using for some of the understructure have rather odd acoustic properties.
Shout "Hello World" down at least one hallway and you could swear that what comes back is "Nevermore..."

That’s the hallway that, when you say “What?”, the echo comes back as “Nothin’!”?
Yeah, there’s some odd things down here.
By the way, has anyone seen our, er, living rug?
