I just installed 3 from the MajorGeeks download.
It installed over 2 without a hitch.
However, many of the existing extensions/add-ons do not work with 3.
A couple that I use have already been updated to work with 3, however.
It make take a few days for the extensions to be available. I sure hope I don’t lose some of the ‘essential’ ones I use.

It make take a few days for the extensions to be available. I love FireFox, but will wait a couple of weeks for the extensions to catch up to v3.

Only one of my PCs has Vista - I can’t load ANY of the extensions on it so I’m going to go to FF 3.0 now! ;-)

Working great for me.
It does work good. But I miss my extensions. I'm so used to them that I can't do much without them. I am used to the tabs being at the bottom with Tab Mix Plus. Now, they are at the top. Irritating. And when I rapidly click on a link to open -- it defaults to opening a new browser window, rather than a new tab. Irritating.
I had it loaded for a whole HOUR! Why don't they fix these things, already????
LOL.

During the install, it asked whether I wanted a desktop shortcut.
If you didn't, you can create one.
WinXP -- Open Explorer.
Find Firefox under the Program Files.
Locate and click once on Firefox.exe to hilight it.
Hold the ALT key and use the mouse pointer to pull the icon to your desktop. Afterward, you can slowly double click the new desktop icon to rename it or remove the .exe.

Alternate method.
Per above, find firefox.exe under Program Files.
Right click on firefox.exe to open the context menu. You should see an entry for ‘create shortcut’. Click on it.
It should have created the shortcut in that file list. It will appear with a small arrow and file size of about 1KB.
Use your mouse hilight, right click and hold, and pull to your desktop.
As above, you can then slowly double click to edit the filename of the desktop icon.

Thanks much.
I understand that would provide a shortcut TO FIRE FOX.
I’m wondering about how to create shortcuts to sites I visit with Firefox??? Doable, or not?
