With the state of mind many in my area are enduring, I wasn’t able to giggle at that post.
But I understand it was suppose to be funny. Trouble is, many here consider themselves at the end of the road due to huge financial loses. And their despondency is wearing off on me.
God does provide.

I am sorry. Prayers are continuing.
It’s just really, really difficult to counsel these people. I am not a trained counselor. But they come to me for help with other stuff and the counseling just sort of happens while I’m helping with their paper maze.
Someone has to step up and be Granny or Pawpaw.
Love them, listen, don't own it, and do your best for them.
Some won't be back. If you've done your job... it's not your fault.
Be tough on them.

I am sure you are doing what needs to be done. Primarily, you can listen and steer people to resources about which you know.
It can be very wearing. And I’m sure that you feel a little overwhelmed at the enormity of it and the meger resources available right now, tonight.
You can take comfort that when you have done all you can do, then you have done everything and you can rest. You are doing the Lord’s work.

If the folks I'm talking to aren't burying dead, or dead... there's a rally point in there.

I think we should begin our drilling and opening wells that have been capped for years. We need to drill off-shore and refine the shale oil. We need to build some new refineries. People can talk all they want about alternatives to oil...but that is all in the future, so what are we to do in the meantime? I’ve been listening to the coming of souped up corn liquor for years, I’ve been listening to tales of electric cars, I watched a solor car event..hmmm, needs much more work, we did have a propane/gas truck, but there weren’t that many propane stations when we needed it. So for now and the near future, crude and gas is what we need.
All you are doing is right. Helping them with their paper work, pointing them in the right direction and many times I think they just appreciate being able to talk to someone about their distressing situation. Bless you and bless them.
We gotta live with it.
