9 Insane Cases that Prove the US Legal System Is Screwed

In the old days, whoever had the biggest stick won. We've evolved to the point that, now, whoever has the highest paid lawyer wins, with the advantage that no matter how much you use a lawyer, it won't snap into pieces.

As long as the legal system has been around, people have been trying to find ways to **** with it. From plaintiffs to lawyers to judges, it looks like we've perfected the art.

Yes, the Pants Judge is in there.

The thing lacking in the article is that the dry cleaners, the Chungs, have closed their business and are considering moving back to S.Korea. Although through external fund raising they have recouped their monetary loss, the strain of the whole ridiculous incident has obviously taken its toll on them. Also, as of May, 2008, this ex-judge is suing again for his 100k+ old job and a mere $1 million in lost wages and putative award.

I would have added the Duke Lacrosse Rape case to this list. While it may have been legit at the start, the Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong's election posturing makes this a 'bad justice' case for the ages.

The Supreme Court's Kelo decision and their new Gitmo detainees ruling have to top any list.

I can agree with the court cases - but the author doesn’t seem to have the vocabulary that would allow him to put more than 4 sentences together without using the ‘F’ word or something similar.
