Try holding down ESC when booting and see if you can get into the CMOS setup.

Well, you and I are in the same boat. My computer bit the dust this morning. I've been getting a can't write to C for the past few days. This morning I got it in the safe mode, but it kept scandsking stating that there was an improper shutdown(which ther wasn't) and then it would freeze.
