Happy belated Birthday, sweet Till.

I am avoiding all news shows. I am tired of this stupid election cycle and don’t want to hear any more right now.

Good morning, everyone.

Thanks for the start, Molly.

I'm having 'puter issues, also. Free AVG virus update will not update. Bummer.

Understand completely, Jemian...

Forgot a MAJOR piece of news: Brokeback Mountain is being adapted to opera!

THAT is another reason to avoid theatres.

When you think our culture could not get much lower, something else develops to show that we haven’t scraped the bottom yet. The total depravity of man is in evidence.

It looks like on Chicago station WGN... WKRP in Cincinatti, Newhart(Larry, Darryl and Darryl) and The Honeymooners will be on Sunday nights starting 8:00pm EST. Those shows were on last night, but I fell asleep after WKRP’s second show. Darn! I needed Newhart’s, Ralph’s and Norton’s humor.

Hey, lysie!

Thanks for the information on WGN! I think we get it here on our cable, and those are 3 of my favorite shows. At least I will have one day when I can watch TV!

You are welcome. I’m always searching for the “older days’” sitcoms. Generally, they are far more humorous and, no doubt, “G” rated.

I’ve been watching “I Love Lucy” reruns on TVLand. I still love Frasier, and Scrubs, before it got too weird.

Frasier, yes! I try to "find" that show, too. BTW, thanks for checking in. I was worried about all your bad weather.

BBL. Off to do some grocery shopping before it gets too hot.

Frasier is on "Lifetime" (or as my hubby calls it, the "Men Are Scum" Movie Network, because of all the women-as-victims movies they air) each weeknight at 11:00 Central; they air two episodes every night. It's late, but you could always tape it.

We got rain and a few booms of thunder and lots of wind but nothing severe.

Good Morning from Soggy Iowa. My personal plight isn’t nearly as bad as Miss Marple’s, but I have friends who were evacuated by boat.

I only had to deal with broken glass after the wind, which accompanied the rain, blew out one of my kitchen windows.

There are lots of tree branches down and general ‘misplaced’ stuff in the yard. I am going out shortly to restore order to the patio.

Good morning Jem and everyone @:) Very hot here yesterday and it's going to be today. Mr HOB spent 90 minutes watering our newly planted flowers yesterday evening and the same time this morning before going to work. We were given 4 rose buhes someone in the neighborhood were getting rid of due to space, I think; one's a yellow climber, the other two are pink bushes, and one's a thorny bush of undtermined color. Wish me luck with them? I still have one more climber we bought to plant and the two hydrangeas. The one white rodie is not doing well...too much sun, I think.m

Belated Happy Birthday, till!

This morning I saw my first bumper sticker for our side (McCain) on a truck with a Marines sticker on it. It was refreshing to NOT see the phony's name on it.

My goodness, I’m catching up on the posts made about the flooding, so sorry to read of the damage and difficulties you’ve been going through.

Thanks for the pings Molly.

We saw our old friends of many years yesterday and it was great to catch up and pick a few tunes with them. I was sorry to observe that my lady friend isn’t in good health, in fact she has testing going on today that hopefully won’t show anything really serious, but frankly as a clinician I’m pretty concerned.

If folks could lift some prayers for Kathy, I’d really appreciate it.

I must get some things to the mailbox, will try to check back later. Have a GREAT DAY everybody!!

GOOD A.M. TO ONE AND ALL FROM THE MISSISSIPPII GULF COAST, USA!!!!

Wow, just finished a ‘sho-nuff’, (Ms for sure enough) good civil war book, ‘The Long Surrender’, about the politicians of the south during the civil war, if you get the chance read it.

Here is my plans set fourth for me. Tomorrow I go to Osner's hospital in New Orleans to get the ole tummy checked out and see why I am walking doubled over and the striking pains. The next day back to the eye doctor, then to a regular everyday doctor and see why I still can't talk (a blessing to the kids I am sure) and I still have the place to cut, on tractor and my NEW riding lawn mower (used to cutting close to the fence as SIL is claiming it my goal to knock down every wood fence post we have, the new mower is believed to help with this problem. Sheesh, I told him I was just checking how good he put the post in the ground but he did not buy that at all.

I am still putting the stick ons on the gas pumps with ‘Thanks to the Democrats for these high gas prices’, every little bit helps I hope.

Just wanted to check in as say Hi to all and my the Lord bless you and guide you through this day he hath made.
Toby
