Now one must ask, why is there such a difference in the accomplishments between these two peoples?
Consider. The Jews are not promoting brain washing the children in military training camps, or teaching them how to blow themselves up to maximize the deaths of innocents, including primarily Jews and other non Muslims, but Muslims as well who don’t submit to the jihadist ways!
The Jews and Christians don’t have an organized mantra that promotes the hijacking of planes, the killing of athletes during Olympic games, or the blowing up of themselves in restaurants, shopping centers, market places and so forth.
The Jews and Christians do not traffic slaves. They do not have leaders that are constantly calling for jihad and death to all Jews and Gentiles, the so-called Infidels.
If he world's Muslims want to garner respect and find success in the world, rather than promoting a culture of death, they should forsake the jihadi obsession and invest their time, energy and wealth in real education [mathematics, physics, literature, art, music, and the financial sciences] and stop blaming the Jews and Gentiles for cultural devastation they bring upon themselves.
Rather than embedding a mindless robotic death wish for all non-Muslims, Muslims should be asking "what can they do for humankind" because it is the contribution to the world that a person or culture makes that commands respect from the world.
Regardless of your feelings about the false crisis that has been created between Israel and the Arab-Palestinians and neighboring Arab countries, the following two sentences really say it all:

Similarly, during the Cold War liberals claimed the provocation was on both sides, yet when the commies fell apart nobody attacked them. Seems to me this pretty well proves that the aggression was entirely on the commie side, yet I've yet to hear a liberal admit they were wrong about the Cold War.

You are right. Something like 3/4 of the world’s Muslims aren’t Arab.
However, there has always been a strong strain of Arabocentrism in Islam from its very beginning. Muhammad and his immediate successors had great difficult in accepting non-Arab converts as more than clients of Arab Muslims. To some extent this ethnocentrism has continued till now. The Arab language, for example, is portrayed as the one the Koran existed in prior to the creation of the world. IOW, Allah speaks Arabic.

You are right—except that islam is islam—the koran is interpreted the same by all of these groups-—G-d said that he would bring the Jews back into his land and that they would never again be forced out—not because of them, but because He gave His Word, and it must happen. The islamist of the world must change this end to prove that the G-d of Abraham, Issac and Jacob is a liar. That ain’t going to happen, captain. If they adhere to the koran, as persians, indians and malaysians, they are like arabs, because they are the decendents of Ishmael and Esau.
Abdus Salam was a Muslim from Pakistan who won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1979.
Lest anyone forget even Al Gore has won a Nobel Prize.
