I like Johnny Cash, too! Thanks for the Orange Blossom Special! He’s got this unmistakable, deep, deep voice! The one song I associate with him the most is “I Walk the Line” - my husband likes to ‘imitate’ him with that song. :)

Polly, it took weeks for me to get it. Print it out - and then freepmail me if you run into any problems. I used my
‘print-out’ cheat sheet for ever! Good luck!

WOW! Love the fiddle, love Bluegrass, and that little girl can sure play!

I think I always liked OBS so much because Daddy played harmonica when I was little. And banjo. And piano. And Guitar. I appreciate good music, but unfortunately that’s all I can do. :)

This is odd, when I clicked on the Orange Blossom Special you posted, I get a Taylor Swift video. Its lovely. I clicked it twice and it comes up the same! LOL~~ Its 7:30 here in Tennessee on Saturday Morning. Nice cool morning...sorta hazy. Won't be that way long, I see the sun peeking through~

I like it a lot, Billie! The only thing I found was the music is overpowering the strength in his voice. Maybe when the new c.d. comes out it will be so much better....was this recorded in his 'pre-idol' days? If so it could be the recording studio, etc. and things are so good today to let us hear more of the voice....the beat was great though. Its surprising what folks in this great big country of ours have in common...LOL~~~

No need to apologize. If we did, that’s how I’d have to spend half my time. d

You would love it here in Tennessee then, Dita...we have a lot of fiddlers all around. I listened to that Orange Blossom Special too that you were talking about that Yorkie posted. It was truly great! The best I believe...

Billie, my husband did too. Honest Injun! Hubby had a great voice. We are older than you all I’m sure but I have a 33 album (old) by Johnny Cash. I got it out when the Johnny Cash movie was on at the theatres.

When my husband was in the bathroom shaving, I would hear him singing....”How Great Thou Art” and other things and honestly it was so good! He could sing for me but not for anyone else. They wanted him in the choir at church because of his deep voice but he never joined the choir. He was a great salesman though and never a bit shy there!! Strange, huh? He was great on the harmonica (his dad was too) and he played the ukelele. Have you heard people who could do the train on the harmonica....he was great at that! Aw, shucks, now I’m gonna go and get sentimental on ya!! I love my memories though!

Woo Hoo, #2650.

I'm sorry, but now you're sounding like the Chattanooga Choo-Choo:

Pardon me, girl
Is that the Chattanooga choo choo?
Track twenty-nine
Girl, you can gimme a shine
I can afford
To board a Chattanooga choo choo
I've got my fare
And just a trifle to spare

You leave the Pennsylvania Station ‘bout a quarter to four
Read a magazine and then you're in Baltimore
Dinner in the diner
Nothing could be finer
Than to have your ham an’ eggs in Carolina

When you hear the whistle blowin’ eight to the bar
Then you know that Tennessee is not very far
Shovel all the coal in
Gotta keep it rollin’
Woo, woo, Chattanooga there you are

There's gonna be
A certain party at the station
Satin and lace
I used to call “funny face”
She's gonna cry
Until I tell her that I'll never roam
So Chattanooga choo choo
Won't you choo-choo me home?
Chattanooga choo choo
Won't you choo-choo me home?

-- Glenn Miller, from "Sun Valley Serenade"
-- words by Mack Gordon, music by Harry Warren

Attention, Attention: Now boarding Train 3500 on Track 29.
