When I was living there (1990), Dix Hills was a collection of large houses inhabited by upper middle class folks of Jewish and Italian ancestry. It was incredibly boring, and its inhabitants incredibly tacky.

A lot of my family lived there so I guess that makes me and my family incredibly tacky. The last thing we need are more of those garlic nosed eye-talians and joos around anyway, right? <sarc

Tompkins' lawyer, Paul Catsandonis,

If this is the same guy who attended the University of Chicago, he is one questionable individual.

Couldn’t happen to a sweller feller...

I'm sure it's fully insured.

It's not outside the realm of possibility that it was looking to Shaniqua as if she might actually get evicted, and she decided to destroy the house - only for the fire to get much further ahead of itself than she initially anticipated.

Here's the domicile in better days. $2.5 million, huh? I think he could have done better...

I am half-Italian, and the level of tackiness varies in my family from the lawn Madonna level to the wearing high heels at the supermarket level. ;-)

Much happier here in the Princeton area. I guess the NJ equivalent to Dix Hills would be Manalapan.

Wideawake, you’re a fellow Maroon? You may have told me that in the past, but, much like a Harvard man, I forgot...

Ah, "Mary on the Half Shell," reminds me of my hometown. This story sounds like a DeMille sequel to The Gold Coast. And it is due out this October! I wonder ...

“He’s supposed to be all about being a gangster ... that’s not a gangster, that’s a coward.”

Sorry Shaniqua, that IS a gangster. What an idiot.

That’s what you call a McMansion.

Here in Indiana you could buy that McMansion for about 12% of what they say its worth there.
