It's not that simple. They look first for the targets with weak security. The weakest target is WINDOWS. It is that simple. Nobody writes a virus that doesn't have anywhere to replicate to.

Nobody writes a virus that doesn't have anywhere to replicate to. Windows is so easy to attack, it's almost trivial. Why waste a bunch of time in a futile effort to write an effective virus for Linux or Mac OS X when Windows is so easy to infect?
