Hi snugs! This is a significant weekend for patriotic Americans. Is your Decoration Day like that? Is that the name of the November tribute to those who died in their country’s service? Or is it lke Veteran’s Day, which honors all who served?
The Rev. Wright connection still haunts Obama Michael Barone
We have a service at the Royal Albert Hall on the Saturday and the Sunday the Queen and senior politicians, members of the services, ancillary services and Scouts and Guides all lay wreaths at the cenotaph after a short service.
Each town also has a memorial service at the Parish church which follows a similar format including Scouts, Guides, cubs Brownies etc attending.
We also have a minutes silence on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month which shows the history that our Remembrance Day comes from the Arminist Day celebrating the end of World War I or the great war as it is often referred to.
On Monday I will post some photos of our remembrance day plus info on it though this is really more apt for your Veterans Day.
I have the honour of doing the dose on Monday which of course will be the official Memorial Day Commemorations I have put together some graphics covering Memorial Days under GWB Presidency which I will post on the dose on Monday but will post on ATRW first in a few minutes.
I know that not all agree with all of his policies especially domestic but there is no doubt his love and support of the military and in return there feelings towards this commander in Chief.
