Our Nation has been Punked (Saudis are laughing)
n/a ^ | 5/17/2008 | A Navy Vet

Posted on 05/18/2008 5:29:27 AM PDT by A Navy Vet

I have come to the sad conclusion that President Bush is a Punk on the World stage. If ever a US President deserved that term, it is George W. Bush.

In case you haven't been keeping up with current events, the leader of the free world made a special trip over to Saudi Arabia recently to ask them to increase oil production. They said no, Bush left with hat in hand.

While some may see this as some sort of diplomatic effort to reduce the price at our pumps, I see it as surrender to the OPEC tyrants.

This is the United States of America President that was essentially beggin for sandrats to give the world more oil.

I don't know about you, but I'm done with this man and will forever call his time in the Oval Office the PUNK presidency. I acknowledge his WOT, but the DefSec and the Generals make that happen and they are doing better with the surge. The President, along with the StateSec make foreign policy and it has been a disaster. PUNKED!

After this election, there'll be only 40 to 42 Republicans left. That means Democrats will have a veto proof majority and all they have to do is to ask a couple of RINOs on our side to join them.

Our only hope right now is John McCain becoming President.

"You are a disgrace."

Okay. If my disgust with my own Country's politicians who continue to embarass me and continue our dependance on foreign energy and continue to push us further towards socialism and point it out, then I am a disgrace. So be it.

BUSH BLAMES DEMOCRATS....

“Those who are screaming the loudest for increased production from Saudi Arabia are the very same people who are fighting the fiercest against domestic exploration, against the development of nuclear power and against expanding refining capacity,” said Mr. Bush yesterday after talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

You are a disgrace, because you have democratic rhetoric and not facts. I am moving to a more accurate forum:

Bush Faults Democrats for Gas Prices
The Washington Times ^ | May 18, 2008 | Sean Lengell

Posted on Sunday, May 18, 2008 9:47:52 AM by kellynla

President Bush yesterday characterized Capitol Hill Democrats as hypocrites for demanding that Saudi Arabia pump more oil while blocking attempts to increase domestic drilling in such places as Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico.

Saudi Arabia announced on Friday that it would meet Mr. Bush’s request to increase oil production, though the jump of 300,000 barrels per day was less than the president had wanted.

But rather than criticize the Saudis, Mr. Bush — after a round of meetings with Middle East leaders at the Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheik — instead heaped blame on congressional Democrats for skyrocketing gasoline prices.

“Those who are screaming the loudest for increased production from Saudi Arabia are the very same people who are fighting the fiercest against domestic exploration, against the development of nuclear power and against expanding refining capacity,” said Mr. Bush yesterday after talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

"This is one of the most disrespectful posts I have ever seen here at FR. How dare you, sir?"

Not only did I earn the right to be "disrespectful" to someone who has often ignored the Constitution I served to protect, but I have the right as an American to voice my opinion. President Bush is one of the worst EO/CIC's this nation has ever experienced.

I will give him some kudos, but he has lacked the foresight or just ignored his advisors to the extent that my fellow hard-working countrymen continue to lose the American standard of living from his his weak energy policies, NWO trade policies, open-border policies, et al. Don't you wonder why he has the worst rating of any president in modern US history? It's not all about the Iraq war.

However, I do give him credit for a couple good Supreme Court nominees. Still, he has been a failure in so many ways, and now he gets punked by the Saudis. I can't believe this man is our President. And we're looking at the same moderate/liberal in McLame.

No, I have no respect for a President, Senator, Congressman, or any local official that doesn't enforce the law of the land. Bush is ignoring our borders and "fair" trade while he goes over to hold hands with King Abdullah and "barter" as one poster put it. In reality Bush had nothing to "barter" with. He was simply making a plea for the King to increase production. That is not what our President should do...it was degrading. I'm ashamed of him. Live with it.

However, regarding this energy issue, all Bush has done is to give lip service and bend to the will of the Congress.

I agree! President Bush should have abolished CONgre$$ and signed an executive order to begin drilling in ANWR and every other place the USA has oil deposits on January 20, 2001 at 3:00 PM!!!
President Bush campaigned on drilling in ANWR and pushed to begin drilling in ANWR. He should have kept his promise, the pesky CONgre$$ be damned!

The will to get out there and produce either crude oil, or a reliable and relatively easily available substitute for petroleum, is what is lacking.

This is what cracked me up when I was listening to the President speaking this morning to the Arab leaders...

Just after begging them to increase production so we'd have lower prices, he was telling them that we are going to find alternatives to oil, and then they'll have to find something besides oil to maintain their economies.

We haven't shown a whole lot of enthusiasm for finding alternatives over the past 35 years, and China and India are burgeoning markets even if we find alternatives quickly, but I guess he can pretend they're in a bind.

With our economy in the shape it's in, it seemed rather odd that he'd be telling other countries how to run theirs anyway.

"So what say you? What should he have done or, better yet, what should he do now?"

I already made my point above how he should have been using his bully pulpit for the last 7 years to make the case to the American public about energy independence. This problem didn't occur overnight.

Reagan, a real Republican, often made his case on prime time TV to the populace about the need for military build-up and the evil of Soviet Communism, and the Country rallied around his talks. I remember people actually stopping to listen to his message. Bush hasn't really tried, although I do recognize he has been pre-occupied with the WOT, but that reasoning only goes so far since he has a Cabinet Secretarys that are not involved with the war. The Secretary of Energy should have been on top of this years ago. The buck stops at the top. That would be Bush.

As for now, Bush is a lame duck, and apparently King Abdullah knows it.

The Democrats filibuster every single attempt by Bush to fix Energy policy in this country leaving him nothing he can do but go hat in hand to ask the Saudis to pump more.

How about the usual mindless screamers in the Failed Media try actually finally learning the facts about what has been going on in Washington on Energy Policy instead of just mindless screaming their ignorant hate for Bush over and over and over and over.

How about they finally try holding the REAL villains of this issue to account? But that right, these gutless wonders can only shoot their own side in the back. They are far too cowardly to ever try taking on the Democrats on anything.

Here is a question you should hear being asked but will not of any Democrat

Democrat Congresscritter, Senator or Activist,

Two weeks ago the talking point being put out by your part to explain your opposition to any development of the USA’s own energy resources was that “We cannot drill our way out of this problem”

This week you Democrats are all claiming credit for “forcing OPEC to increase production”

Since, as you Democrats just claimed, increased production of Oil is the solution to high energy prices, why does your Party believe it is better for the USA to buy Oil from OPEC rather then produce it ourselves?
