Robert “Mutt” Lange is no longer still the one for Shania Twain.
The country/pop superstar and her music producer husband are splitting after 14 years of marriage, her rep confirms to OK!.
“Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage,” Jason Owen tells OK!. “This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”
The 42-year-old singer met Mutt when he was recruited to work on her album in the early 1990s. They married on December 28, 1993 and have a 6-year-old son, Eja D’Angelo.
At the beginning of their relationship, the couple weathered much flack and criticism because of their 17-year age difference while others felt Shania was using the red-hot producer to further her career. In response to their detractors, the two wrote “You’re Still the One,” which became Shania's biggest hit to date.
"Back in Black" is the second highest selling release in the world behind Michael Jackson's Thriller. 42 million copies, 22 million of them in the US (5th highest).
He can retire many times over on Back in Black alone.

She hasn’t done anything big for years. He was such a big part of her professional persona, disruption in her marriage might explain her absence from the charts.
She actually can’t sing very well. She has electronic pitch correction in her live shows as well as in studio. I hate that.

True. In interviews she has said they chose to live in Switzerland partly because she said she could go to the supermarket without any hassle and live a fairly normal life for a well known celeb on the North American side. Unfortunately since there is son involved that is the saddest part of all this.

There were big rumors about them splitting up a few years ago, but nothing happened. Now we can see that they might have been true. :(
That’s actually the locale of their New Zealand property.. some 60,000+ acres. They sold the Swiss one two years ago. Man..can you imagine?

Hey Lainie...OMG...What shocking news....I geuss they’re not “always forever” he’s not “still the one” and he didn’t “make her dreams come true from up above”. As a hockey fan I think I get first dibs. Besides she’s about my same age.
I read ana rticle about him and them saying basically they're kinda into a new age thing where they don't eat meat or drink.
I wonder if Shania will go out drinking with Jessica Simpson since she just broke up with Tony Romo.

I just thought of something. Any bets on how many calls Baba Wawa has placed to Shania’s publicist today? Baba’s on a hot streak. All that whoring out has produced sales on her autobiography. She’ll never get Mutt but she might be able to persuade Shania.
