Robert “Mutt” Lange is no longer still the one for Shania Twain.
The country/pop superstar and her music producer husband are splitting after 14 years of marriage, her rep confirms to OK!.
“Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage,” Jason Owen tells OK!. “This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”
The 42-year-old singer met Mutt when he was recruited to work on her album in the early 1990s. They married on December 28, 1993 and have a 6-year-old son, Eja D’Angelo.
At the beginning of their relationship, the couple weathered much flack and criticism because of their 17-year age difference while others felt Shania was using the red-hot producer to further her career. In response to their detractors, the two wrote “You’re Still the One,” which became Shania's biggest hit to date.

They certainly made their money from US Citizens.
I don’t know specifics, but I’d guess they made their money in a lot of countries.
If she is a nonresident alien with US source income, she could very well be subject to tax. But if she’s not an American and lives outside the US, I think different rules apply. I would think it depends who signed her, where they’re based, and what tax rules they’re under; because they pay her salary. As with anything, “it depends.”
He produced ACDC's albums, an Australian band that outsells Shania Twain. He was rich and famous (in his own way) while Shania was still a lounge singer.

What a shame. And for the record there’s 13 years difference between me and my beloved. We’ve been married going on 27 years.
Either that or he didn’t walk the line.

I’m very glad it’s working out for you. :) We all have our preferences. And of course it’s sad to see a 14-year marriage go down the tubes, no matter what the ages or professions or nationalities of the spouses.

Yep he’s been very innovative for many years. I remember at the time of his pairing with Shania, Nashville being aghast that a rock producer was infiltrating their turf. Turned out to be pretty lucrative for her (and him), and if I’m being honest, I did like those songs at the time. And she’s, of course, drop dead gorgeous. But the (music) magic was a little too lightning-in-a-bottle to be a long term thing, seems to me.
