One of our big concerns since January is getting a vehicle for us to use while in the states. Our car was so old and had so many miles on it that the insurance would not cover the cost of a replacement. Big sigh.
Last week one of our supporters wrote and said she was thinking of getting a new car, but would sell it to us first for a pittance and then we could sell it back to her when we left. I didn’t understand the offer and thought that we’d assume her car payments for the interim. Frankly, we can’t do that. So, I replied with that.
The next email from her straightened me out on the nature of her offer but said she was having second thoughts and would put the idea before “the group” of her friends who also work with people like me. Today she wrote back with another idea. Her family and friends have advised her that she doesn’t need a new car now, and that instead of buying another car as prep for the future she should wait until that future gets here. BUT, another of the group does need a new car now and will in all likely hood donate their FORD EXPLORER to us. YIPPEE! A workhorse to haul around all our displays and junk.
This is not a done deal, but I am greatly heartened by this.
YES! Praying that the deal is a deal!
