It went well. Hours and hours of going thru stuff...cabinets, closets, drawers...separating the good things from the trash from the family items...

Decades of accumulation!

The bags of trash are turning into a small hill... I will NOT do this to my kids...but the worst is over. I packed boxes and boxes of good, heirloom china, and brought other things home to show to Mama and ask her about....photos, scrapbooks, etc. I've done some of this already with stuff I've brought home before.

I've also asked her about furniture items, and their history. There's one mirror - the frame of which -is 200 years old. So I've written that all down, and I saw on this trip a few more such items to ask her about.

My sister and I have collected all the financial papers which shouldn't be left in the house.

I shredded loads of old receipts with her info on them...old labels...old credit cards....cleaned out the whole kitchen.

My sister had gotten the ball rolling on previous trips, so I just followed up using her plan...it's a good one! so yes, it was a worthwhile trip & I kind of enjoyed the hours and hours alone..-:)

Thanks for the link Raven. I am still looking. Not in a great hurry to buy because I want to get just the right set for me :-) I play with a group of about 12 people and each of them has a set that they bring to the Thursday game. Some have eight 'flowers' some have 16 flowers which really brings the scoring into a new dimension. The other day, someone got 45,000+ for a score while my seemingly lovely hand only had 320 points....GO FIGURE!

Mahjong is my new obsession :-)

This afternoon, after we returned to Mother’s house, after taking her to brunch, I sat and looked at the ‘stuff’. Ye Gads.

I have this ahead of me. Mom is 90, and still on the farm.

Good morning.

I’ve done that cleaning out, too, and vowed I wouldn’t leave it all for the kids, but every time I go to the basement and consider cleaning it out, I think, aw heck, they can do it.
Seriously, though, need to get on that and at least start to weed things out.
You must be pooped, Molly!

Good morning, lysie and everyone.

Yesterday afternoon, we were under a tornado warning...scary because it was traveling about 10 miles from my house.

Today, we have an extended high winds watch until 6pm. Since we had so much rain downpour yesterday, I will be working inside instead of doing the yardwork I didn't finish on Saturday.

Jenna and Henry's wedding pictures were absolutely beautiful! Along w/many others, I wish them both the best that life can offer.

(BTW...Karl Rove was there!)

Good Morning Cm. We were both posting at the same time. I certainly didn’t intend to overlook you!

When FNC was telling about the bad weather in the Carolinas, I thought of you, instantly. I’m glad to know you dodged the worst of that weather.

Good morning Dawn Patrol.

Carolinamom that must have been a bit scary yesterday as we all know tornadoes can change their course in a second.

PTL that the tornadoes left you alone. Those are the scariest of all storms, I think.

I just ran into a bookshelf and I bet I’ll have a bruise on my cheekbone. I wonder if people will believe me. LOL!

It was very scary....I have a grandson who was in a nearby town right in its fast-moving path, then a daughter some miles away also in its path. Then it veered towards my hometown...and the local TV weather maps even showed/named the street there where I grew up....tense time, but it didn't touch down in those places, thank the Lord.

About 8-10 miles from me, the size of the sudden hail ranged from marble, golfball, and even baseball size.

Doing pretty good. Hubby is packing truck to leave for CO as soon as a helper shows up. This week I am hiring a sitter to come in and sit with mom so I can get out more. (Dr’s orders)

How are you?

Glad you’re getting a sitter for Mom!

Doing fine. Winding up yard work here before we go north.
