I love my Mosins.

I take it easy when shooting them - I did a postal match with 2 guns one day - 10 rounds each to sight them in, then 25 rounds each to shoot, and I was a hurtin’ puppy for a couple of weeks. They are light guns, especially the carbines, and the recoil is fierce.

Mine are VERY accurate, I can hit clays at 100 yards with the iron sights - that’s 4 MOA - which is good shooting.

The Mosins are cheap and collectible - I started off with a M-44 Romanian I picked up for $49, and added some 91/30s for about $90 each and then some hex receivers - then some “Imperial” Mosins (pre 1918) - and of course a Remington Mosin - it’s like eating potato chips! I can’t stop!

They are just fun rifles to shoot and collect!

Enjoy!

Right here. I have a 1916 vintage that still has the Romanov crest on it. It's non-matching, but a good shooter. I shoot relatively light loads with cast bullets out of it because of it's age, but I very much enjoy it. Mosin Nagants are capable of remarkable accuracy, particularly some of the Sako made ones. Enjoy!

Mine is a project rifle at the moment. The only thing I’ve ever heard that is required to make it a tack driver is a good sight.

I prefer this:

And avoid putting Wolf ammo thru any weapon that you value.

I own one as well. I don’t know about it being a tack driver, but the rifle certainly drove a few German soldiers into the hole.

I've had my m44 for about 8 years now and just got ammo for it yesterday! LOL...now I got to try and find a place I can shoot it at. Got my Ammo here for a decent price. I can't wait to shoot it....make sure you shoot with the bayonet extended if you have the m44.

You'll love it! Go hear to read about "special" handloads tested by the Finns @ http://www.guns.connect.fi/gow/QA1.html

I just got a PU Sniper 91/30 last week.

Got Three, An original - made by Westinghouse - Yes, Westinghouse, in 1915; Then the mid length and finally the shorty with folding bayonet.

Buy ammo by the case, much cheaper.

I got mine for Valentine’s Day from DH a couple of years ago. Nothing says I Love You like a Russian Sniper Rifle!

Does photobucket now consider guns taboo to have on their site?

Good find, Ive not shot em but have heard many good things aboout the accuracy/price of the platform...

Local large store sellin em for $90 WITH some [??? 30 rds, maybe 100 ???] ammo...not quite as many bells and whistles but still comes w/ maintenance tools, sling and pig sticker...gotta loosen up a few bucks and get a couple while theyre still in stock...

Good find...congrats on the new family member!! I’m currently *expecting* and should be taking delivery of an Inland (division of GM) M1 Carbine within the next week or so. Cheaperthandirt.com has the folding M1A1 paratrooper stocks so I should be all tricked out within the month..
