The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Evening, that sounds like a fairly positive medic report. Congrats.

There is something about ‘low colesterol diet’ and November that seems a bit strange. Isn’t that about the time that Starbucks has their eggnog and/or pumpkin lattes? :-)

They’re already out...but I limit myself to two per season.

Normally if I get something other than coffee I’ll do a sugar free vanilla non fat latte. You don’t get the spice part, but it’s still tasty.

And it probably only as 3 zillion calories as opposed to the 47 zillion in the pumpkin spice...

I’ve been eating a lot of oatmeal mostly because I’m cheap rather than for health reasons. ;-) Since I’m also lazy and don’t have time to cook in the morning (and hate dealing with the microwave), a lot of the time I do muesli instead of oatmeal. The night before you put oatmeal, dried fruit and nuts if you want ‘em, maybe some cinnamon and some sweetener in a container, add milk to cover, and let it sit overnight.

Tasty. Not low-carb, of course, but probably pretty healthy. And all I have to do is grab it as I run out the door.

Oh yeah...thanks for the reminder! I’m not sure I’ll watch it all, but I’ll probably at least turn it on and kinda follow it as I go about my business. There’s a lot I’ve forgotten.

To clarify: let it sit overnight in the fridge.

G’nad - I was thinking that you used Unique in the .38 but forgot about the W231 in .45. 50 percent is a reasonable average for my memory.

Seems early in the year for the ‘holiday’ blends; guess they’re considering them for the fall season, which does start in a week or so.

I’m not sure “eggnog” is out, but Mrs. told me “pumpkin spice” is out.

Yah... I did load W231 mostly because it was reportedly more clean burning than others at the time. That, and I had a whole s#!tload of it. Back then I was loading mostly .357. But I did load some Unique too. Can’t say that I can actually back up a preference for one over the other, from my range data.

I would say that the W231 is cleaner. But heck... we clean our guns every time at the range anyway... does that matter? Dunno.

Dude... I so get that. Got SOX audits starting this week. Yippee Aye Frickin' A...

I'm pretty sure that both ISO and SOX was a conspiracy by the SteelCase company to sell filing cabinets. So far, they're getting away with it. :-)

Check out a pic from the pattern for my current crochet project. It's 3/4 scarf and 1/4 shawl in that it's a scarf built on a 90-degree angle. Once it gets going it's super easy (takes about 4 rows before you can see how the design emerges) and pretty fast. I'll take pics of mine when it's a little closer to finished - it's in a lighter color yarn. If you'd like to have the pattern, let me know.

I’m starting a rumor.

Barack went to Hillary and said he’d dump Biden if she’d agree to be his V.P. Hillary said no.

Pass it on.
