Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I dunno! It’s probably too big for you. It’s actually not a bad bike. I just have an irrational prejudice against Trek. ;-)
You’d be welcome to borrow it if you wanted to give it a try sometime.
Well, the idea of getting fit sounds good anyway... :~)
You haven’t ridden yours to work much this summer... since you got that snazzy new car. :~)
Bigot! ;o)
Clare LOVES her Trek bike! She was missing it while she was home for the summer.
Yeah...I know. Honestly, a big part of it is that there was construction along Israel, and very cranky drivers as a result, and I got yelled at and honked at on one of the few times I did ride in. I have to psych myself up to ride on the road anyway, and with that factored in, I failed this year. Now it’s dark too early and cold too much. I’m a sissy.
Hopefully I’ll do better next year.
I’ve thought about trying to get into running. As exercise goes, it’s very efficient — lots of calories burned in a short period. So long as there’s daylight I could run on the road, well over on the shoulder. But it seems more...exposed somehow.
I know, I know. I did admit it was irrational...
My biggest problem with that bike is the suspension fork. It’s too squishy. And it doesn’t adjust much. So the steering feels mushy.
Oh, so now you're anti-Zionist...
They're wearing the new ABU digital camouflage, if anybody asks.
Notice all the people in the background looking at something other than Obama.
Heading out from Fangorn.
We either are or are not gonna get whacked by Tropical Storm Hanna. And we either are or are not gonna get a lot of wind and rain. (they really don’t have a clue)
So I’ll either be around or not this weekend.
I guess I didn’t say before, so I’ll say now.
It’s Family Reunion weekend so I’m in NC for the storm. Woo Hoo!
Make sure you batter down your hatches....
Evening - Corin - be careful back there with the storms and all. It sounds series, I heard on the radio that the NASCAR race was being postponed till Sunday, that doesn’t bode well for Caturday, weatherwise.
We’re all stocked up. Stopped by the store and got:
4 bottles of wine
2 cases of water
4 six packs of diet coke
chips
salsa
s’mores
We’re good.
The storm’s supposed to be here tomorrow. Hopefully it’ll break the drought.
So far we’ve had a drizzly rain and already we’ve lost a branch on the pee-can tree.
Looks like I’ll be reunioning and traveling during all the racin’. Guess I’ll have to catch the highlight reel.
Talon’s at the store now getting beer for him and bread for me. White bread. With no taste.
I think the whole “morning” sickness thing is overrated.
This too shall pass...so to speak.
I think we ate up at least half of our bean dip supply.
Evening OT - Glad to hear you made it safe and sound. The radioguy says the storm is coming ashore somewhere between Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Glad they have that new bridge over the ICW at Socastee SC. :-)
Sounds like a reasonable amount for Caturday, how bout Sunday and therace? :-)
We may have to restock on the way home from gettin’ churched up.
Speakin’ of church. Mrs. and Junior are at auditions.
