Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Good Morning All.
RIP Tony Snow, called home before his time.
Seems like the 40 percent chance of precip is a sure thing today. Gypsy got her walk and we just finished up deadheading the daylilies. They have been beautiful this year, even more so than most years.
Breaking in the AR sounds like a very reasonable substitute for zapping weeds in the pasture. Let us know how the EBR is faring.
Sorry to hear about Abbeycat. Seems a shame the leg won’t heal.
If the front drops the temps to the 70s we might be able to do some more staining today. It really helps if the windows are open, helps dry the stain and knocks the fumes to a miminal braincell damage level, or so we hope.
We do like Caturdays, yes we do.
Ah good... so it will be some other dad's tow and repair bill. :~)
Bless Abby's heart.
Yeah... incentive to get checked out at my next annual checkup.
Oh, man. That just sucks.
That was the first news I saw when I logged onto FR. A very sad way to start a weekend.
Heh...she’s got a pretty decent car, but yeah. They’ll have to call her dad if something happens.
Abby’s just sort of pitiful. She came out a little bit last night and Jr. and the Mrs. held her for a while. But she’s not a happy cat.
Yeah, it's already on my "to do before summer is over" list. Me especially since I already have a history.
Disturbing realization today is that when I went out to do yard work, I made it about an hour and a half before I had to quit. I just can't do what I used to. I cannot mentally or physically stand the thought of going back out to do more work.
It's a little disconcerting. I don't think it's ~just~ age. I told the Mrs. that perhaps because we've been running so hard, really since before last summer when we didn't have a vacation, that maybe when we stopped last week it was such as shock to our system that we just haven't quite recovered yet.
I've consoled myself with the thought that I can do an hour or so a day, and that I'll not be heading off to rehearsals in September and October.
Yeah, I hate that like heck! I haven’t read yet exactly what killed him. I think he was in remission from the cancer, but someone linked to his last FR post in late May, which mentioned a bowel obstruction.
But today is a GREAT day! The local semi-pro baseball team, in conjunction with Sony is having an electronics dump day at Holy Cross College. We've spent the last couple of hours bringing old, big honking monitors (5) and computer boxes (7) down from the attic, not to mention many and varied sets of speakers and Sir Kit's original Allied turntable from the first stereo he bought 40 years ago. It hasn't worked in 20 years, and we'd just stuck it up in the attic. This is saving well over $100 in what it would have cost us to have someone pick all this up and haul it away! It also helped to clean 1/4 of the stuff out of the attic, which we were going to have to do at some point, anyway. The stuff that's left up there is mostly packing materials which we'll use as we're packing to move.
Now I consider myself a nice guy (you have to be, working a hospital help desk), but I, even as a nice guy, would have bitch-slapped some of the people Tony dealt with.
That excludes Helen Thomas, who looks like someone got to her a long time ago. Peter Jackson would need no special effects if he needed a female troll.
ROTFL!! Yeah, the word 'forebearance' came to mind quite often, when watching him deal with the White House press corps.
Ok....energy film up. I’m afraid there’s some of Miss Cat’s fur stuck to thesunroom.
Heh, glad to hear that you got it up. Is it the clear stuff or the shiny side stuff? It is amazing sometimes why our various animals aren’t bald the way they shed hair.
Greycat has discovered our porch swing and has decided it makes an excellent place to nap. He’s been sawing logs out there most of the afternoon.
It’s the clear stuff. I’ll see how it does tomorrow when it’s supposed to be sunny. Guess I should do the other two “walls” next. I have enough stuff left to do the windows on the SW side....they’re little windows.
Like I said - a cat bed and breakfast.
Have I been censored by LOLcats?
I posted my latest in this post: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2010712/posts?page=3310#3310
Right now, it’s not showing up for me here, or on my blog. If you go to the main site, pictures show up. But if I log into my account, none of the pictures I made or favorited show anything but a red x.
Tinfoil anyone?
I dunno. Maybe they're starting to use some non-linkable HTML to cut down on bandwidth.
Here's an example just pasting the properties of their latest pic:

Here it is, using their copy-and-paste sample HTML:

Sorry, I just don't think they like you.
I’m wondering if I’m a bit paranoid because my last two were digs at Obama. I can see all the other pictures on the site.
Just not mine.
