Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I went grocery shopping earlier today. I didn’t see any fresh pork shoulders so I settled for ribs. Oh well.
Are you off today? OB is still at work. I’ve been staining the new upstairs window, not pleased with the color yet, but I have to put on a second coat so I can try to correct it then.

I still got the red rectangle of doom! LSA
I think Snapfish took an early 4th of July holiday...
Mmm...ribs...
Betcha all that stuff is on sale right now too, huh? Hm. May need to stock up.
I think you may be right.
LSA
I did my stocking up earlier today, relieving my wallet of $78 in the process.
Let me try putting this picture in a different place:
Heh. I took thecat in for full service. It may take a while for my checkbook to recover.
It's rather like the (very) old joke:
Tourist: Tell me, how do you get to Carnegie Hall?
New Yorker: practice, practice, practice!
Heh...one of the dorm buildings at Maryville College (where the camp I went to is held) is called Carnegie Hall. That’s the one I stayed in, actually.
It makes for a lot of jokes. ;-)
Ladies Day at the oil changing place? Now someone is thinking! It’s usually the gals who end up having to hang around and wait for the oil change to be done, and it’s boring, just sitting there.
Thanks. We’re headin’ out for some. Jr. and his friend are keepin’ the younguns. Just cost me a couple of pizzas...
I just opened my Firefox for the day, a few minutes ago, which is unusual for me!
I hear folks all the time, when I encourage them to sing in Church, say, "I just can't sing well". I always tell them, "God gave you your voice, so give it back to Him!". ;o) If they're in a big crowd at Mass, most folks aren't going to hear them well, anyway. I'm thinking I'd like to learn to play the piano, someday. I used to play the guitar; mostly just chords, but it was fun! I haven't played in over 25 years, though.
We may not make thepier this trip. If we do, it will be on our way out on Saturday. Beach week is more complicated when there’s 11 people along. But it’s been a good week.
Jr’s got a vey bad sunburn though. All blistered up. And yes, we told him about sunscreen.
We took today off from thebeach and did go-karts and putt-putt. Heading back out early tomorrow to spend the day on the beach, come home and grill some steaks and then see the fireworks.
It’s been a different beach week. Not so much vegging as we usually do, and that’s been a good thing.
Fifty don’t seem so bad after all...
I'm not sure how to describe my singing, maybe "Unearthly" or "Cats in heat" might be accurate descriptions lol.
Well Happy Birthday to you both. OB & LSA
