Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

How did the kitten hand-off go?
It’s been a little wild around here, huh! Wow... some wicked thunderstorms last night. And still this morning.
I’ve heard about one boom, and that’s it. :-\ Kinda disappointing...call me crazy, but I love a good thunderstorm. If I don’t have to drive in it, anyhow!
That was one of the coolest things about Colorado, as I know I’ve said over and over. They had LOTS of thunderstorms, and you could see them rolling toward you off the mountains, bolts of lightening and all.
Great pictures! I love that sunflower!
Hopefully they settle in...especially Binx. I don’t think there’s much to worry about where Blair is concerned. She’d make herself to home just about anywhere, I’d think. ;-)
Ah, and I just saw your latest post! Wicket...I like it. I was wondering if you’d give her more of a real name. “The Ewok kitten” makes sense in a crowd of other kittens, but it’s not really a name....
Looks like she’s settling right in! She didn’t act as though she’d be lonely without the other kittens when I was over there — was already doin’ her own thing.
The storms seem to be running up I-90 toward the pass. They’re just bangin all over around here.
I have storm envy. :-\
We used to get hugh and series storms in Ohio, that would knock down tree limbs, take out power lines, and soak everything for a week. Ugh.
Half a Precious is better than none...I guess.

Try figuring that out as you drive by at 60 mph.

Maybe it's not a fail, but a win for truth-in-advertising.
As Rosie said, we kinda got skunked... only very distant thunder, not close enough to be exciting to anyone but Gidget, who has been barking all morning, and Homer, who has been clawing at me. But I saw the radar images last night and this morning!
For all Barkley’s vices, at least he doesn’t give a rip about fireworks or thunderstorms. I don’t think I’d want another one of either type of neurosis.
What if I want to go right? ;~)
*sigh*
The guitar list folks are exchanging Eastern NC barbecue methods and recipes, with some beef contributions from the Texans (and the ensuing uproar that causes).
It’s makin’ me hungry.
Same with Vermont...but in the summer, it’s kinda fun being without power. Not so bad at Dad’s even in the winter, since we had a woodstove. Kinda cozy.
There’s *some* positive in everything. Really.
Don't get involved with barbecue wars. They're vicious!
Not up to Dwarf standards I'm sure, but the stones don't rock when I step on 'em. I'm happy.
Yep, brings back some good memories, and some not so good ones too, like when we were kids complaining about being stuck inside after the 3rd straight rainy day.
Aaaagghhh!!! The Red Rectangle of Doom!
I stay outta the discussions. ;-) I’m from places where BBQ just means cooking outside. Heresy!
But I’ll happily steal recipes. Got me wanting to go buy a big hunk o’ pig.
