Heh...

Mornin’. Had a busy day of driving to Des Moines, eating lunch with friends, having a meeting, eating dinner with friends, driving home, then getting somewhat drunk but just with the one friend who’s staying over.

And it’s a beautiful morning and I didn’t drink too much last night.

I’m in the middle of mining the compost pile and building a new one. Grilling’s on tap for race time. Wonder if there’s a good recipe for grilled turnips out there somewhere...

Morning OT - That rain was a bit of a surprise. Especially nice when it’s followed by a rainbow over theshire.

Grilled turnips?, well we got to say we haven’t tried that yet. Probably should include a good Cajun rub.

Morning Winmag - nice scope. The crosshairs seem a bit complicated to this ol’ Mizzura fella. sigh. so much for Kentucky windage..

Hmmm....hot pepper, salt, vinegar....or maybe with cheese on top. A turnip melt!

I got the compost spread out and now it’s time to build the new pile. Looks like it’s dry enough now to mulch the crops. My laurel tree likes its new pot and is putting out new growth. Hope bunnies don’t like laurel...

I never liked turnips, after having been made to eat them as a kid.

Did you get that rainstorm about 8:00 this morning? Lots of thunder, huge raindrops, beautiful rainbow over Perfect Village, lasted about 5 minutes? Just enough rain to get the grass sopping wet, again. LSA

Thanks for that info; I'll have to see if they're going to be anywhere in the area. George was a fantastic guitarist, and you're right, he was always in the shadow of John and Paul.

I always liked the Beatles, and learned to love harmony by listening to John and Paul singing together. That's when I realized I was an alto, because I could never sing the high parts of songs, so the harmonies fit me just right!

Thanks for the suggestions! We’re about to be empty nesters, when our youngest goes off to college in the Fall. We’re in the process of remodeling our house in MA to sell it, and move back home to MS. It will be much easier finding places to do some range shooting there, and the restrictions will be many fewer than we have now.

We got the thunder and a few drops...not enough to get anything wet, though.

Nayber has a sump pump now.

I ditched the grilled turnip idea and went with zucchini kabobs instead. Rib eye was good and have enough coals left to do chicken for this week’s lunches.

The real question is, which started there first?

fail owned pwned pictures
see more pwn and owned pictures

OTOH, you can't ask for greater convenience in falling off the wagon.

I just got finished making Gypsy’s doggie treats and they are in the oven. Bleah! Ground up chicken livers, garlic, carrots, cornmeal, whole wheat flour, anise seeds, and a little bit of salt in the food processor. Sprinkled the mess with cheese and patted it onto a greased cookie sheet. She loves ‘em and the ones from the health food store were just getting ridiculously expensive.

Now to wash and sterilize everything that touched the raw chicken livers!

Gross, but at least the dog liked them.

As long as Gypsy likes them.

I made tuna treats for Miss Cat once but she didn’t much care for them after they were baked.

I’ve never made any cat treats for Annie; unlike my other cats, she has never cared for people food of any kind. Must come from being raised at the vet’s where she was never given access to those types of bad influences. (sigh)LSA

Those are really cute! The picture does give me the idea of adding some oatmeal to the liver treats. I’ve looked at similar cookie cutters, but Gypsy gets treats that are about 1” square. Like me, she needs to watch her caloric intake! LSA
