I’m stumbling in late, had a marvelous evening with my kids.
I broke out the old vinyl and let them hear what Mom thought was cool, back in the day. We played some Beatles, Hendrix, Blondie, Elvis Costello, ELO, ELP-my gosh, what a fun nite! AND THEY ACTUALLY ENJOYED IT!! We danced and sang and now they’re both conked out...mommy’s kinda tired too.
I never used to like asparagus and then my grandmother made some for me with some cheese and I grew to like it...even without the cheese. :)

Now that sounds like fun! My Mom still has a substantial vinyl record collection...she had Cheech and Chong on vinyl, and I never bothered to ask her why :)

Cheech and Chong, I never had. I just didn’t get into the whole drug culture humor thing back then.
It was a lot of fun tonight. I found out I can’t quite Twist like I usta! (my knees are a bit sore now...) My daughter caught sight of the inner pic on the Woodstock album (the naked hippy couple in the pond) and she freaked out. “Mom!!!! They’re...naked!!!Ewwwwwwww!”
I told her they were hippies, they do that.
Which perfectly explains the B. Hussein Obama candidacy.
That having been said, I think Rush does get into the meat of issues when he really wants to do it. He does this more than Hannity does...the one thing that irritates me about Hannity is that he spends way too much time giving airtime to the kooks and 'seminar callers'. If I wanted to hear that garbage, I'd go read some posts at DU.

I have a turntable and some vinyl records that are older than I am.
Same here. I even have some 78’s! Fat lot of good they do me. My turntable only has 33 1/2 and 45 rpm.
All of mine play on the turntable, so I guess it is a 78. I will play those or my cds over most of what is on the radio.

I said on an earlier thread that if we could tax stupidity we could pay off the national debt.
Hefeweizen beer with a slice of lemon. I am not crazy about beer either.... but this stuff was good. There are alot of different brands out there.....but a microbrew I tasted in Oregon was the best.
Just make sure that the marginal tax rate for stupidity remains somewhat low otherwise the economy could collapse on itself. ;)
