I am feeling kinda puny today; achy and tired. Hubby is not feeling well either, severe allergies. I will be back when I get to feeling better. I am going to take some Tylenol and rest a bit. I think that is all I need. :-)

Thank you all for your lovely, fun, great birthday wishes.
I gave myself a birthday gift ..
I have stood on the banks of the Brazos near where the Bosque River joins it..I looked over at the tall lovely limestone cliffs on the west side of the river.. I spied some ducks and a few wildflowers there..

I happened upon a historic home.. that interested me because of the grounds..One has to have an appointment to tour the home ..

I stood beneath a 400 year old oak tree..with a lovely covered terrace area nearby, listening to and watching the birds..There were three very old oaks that were breathtaking..l enjoyed looking at at the lovely Magnolia trees blooming and strolling among the different levels of the garden..

I then went to a nearby large park along the Brazos that has a wildflower garden..

I was getting frustrated whizzing by wildflowers on the road where there was no place to pull over
and really look...so I searched out the “Miss Nellie’s Pretty Place” in Cameron Park.

It is like a
field of wildflowers with a walking path around it..nothng “tamed” looking about it. although of
course the wildflowers were originally planted there.Many varieties..I need to take my Texas Handbook on Wildflowers next trip. I did take my binoculars.

I talked to the docent at the Historic house as I was returning from my walk, spied two fishermen on the river bank and otherwise was alone enjoying all this. I am more a “no crowds” kind of person so it was perfect!

It was 87 degrees already when I finally stopped looking at wildflowers and I realized I had to have something to drink...My back convinced me to come on home and rest..I want to go back soon... I noticed other places to explore..

Today I saw the river,a lovely garden, flowers,both wild and cultivated, heard birds singing, and saw magnificent trees. A nice birthday indeed.Thank you all for helping me celebrate!

I found out it was Meg's birthday and then I found out it was yours too! Went to the dentist today so I hope your birthday was a wonderful one!
