I have been enjoying this series a great deal. How about you?
I'm going to reserve judgemnet on that comment.
if you were a crewmember of a carrier, your'd be a "sack" that would never be found again.Don't worry 'bout it (I'm not turning you in to NCIS); I can't speak for the rest of the "boat".
Lay off the sauce.....
I don’t think you have the slightest clue.
If you were a member of a sub crew...we would duck tape your ass up...hang you upside down over the TDU well....pull you pants down and squirt some grease up your ass and then shave your balls nice and spiffy...then we’d take turns punching the piss out of a smart ass nub like you....you don’t know me, so shut your rantin’ pie hole about me not having a clue...i got a question for ya....what do you do with a pregnant sailor? Huh? Thats’s right..she’ll suck up a shore duty billet.
I spit on your grave.
If you were discoverd on a SS boat, I shudder to think what might be done to you (what I suggest is MILD in comparison).
Actually, I’m sick of the whining from some of the males about their poor choices in mating and procreating.
That one fellow’s whining about a his pregnant ‘fling’ not emailing him or calling him is getting old and annoying. Get over it already!
Other than that, it’s a great series.
You know, that was the most poignant part of his story. Im willing to bet that, based on the way he looks out for his Marines, hes going to be a great father.I loved the denouement with him dancing with his wife. Him seeing the video of his child and meeting his child for the first time was great too.
I really have to give PBS credit for this. I don't think FReepers understand that they aren't the target audience for this program. It's aimed at showing the well-educated professional class liberals who watch PBS what the military is really like. It has the stuff they expect, the poor folks, the gays etc... but at the same time it shows that members of the military are genuine human being and genuinely care for the friends and the people they're dealing with. Hardly the brainwashed killers that Code Pink and other groups think they are.
I may have too much faith in humanity, but I think this serious humanized the US military for one of the groups that has the least connection to it, liberals.
The fact of the matter is that I ticked chasio649 off somehow.
I'm uncertain how I did it, but the fact exists that I DID it (and we both end up with black eyss).
Do you recall the segment of the program that made referance to 1+1=45+45? That's right: con't get your nose into a "poke".
I believe that's what we had here. I'm pretty certain that its not the same, but a guy I know has been serving as Armament Dawg for the last 18 monts in Iraq.
Lets talk Navy/Army animosity....
I'll tell you this: the Marines i biletted with survived USAF/Marine inspection (as did I). The specific dorm squadron that I was a member of was so much the better for it.
In the same dorm were Rangers & Seals. I'm not going to tell you 'bout the injuries that the varous members sustined with respect to their hospital admitnce.
Nobody won that battle. The whole dorm LOST (and I made certain of that). You'd never understand unless you've been there. The point is that it would not/could NOT be a 50's movie, i.e., between Sharks and/or Bloods.
Apparently I pissed chasio649 off somehow; something I said.
However, if I EVER catch anybody giving chasio649 grief, he should konw that I would dive in from 12 O'Clock high with all guns blazing...
“Come Early Morning”
this is the post that I regret.
I don’t know how to “fix” it.
I believe this to be the post that set chasio649 off.
